Earlier this week, South Korean media reported that Team Ninja will restart the "Dead or Live" or "Ninja" series. However, Team Ninja then told foreign media VGC that they have no news to share about their classic series.
Team Ninja Creative Director Tom Lee said: "Dead or Live and Ninja are both long-term pillar series of Team Ninja. These positive games reflect the history and reputation of our studio.
There is no doubt that both games cannot be ignored when discussing the development of our past and future projects. However, there is no detail or news for both series at the moment.
Like many of our loyal fans, we are also passionate about the return of these beloved games and we will definitely provide appropriate updates if one day comes."
Although the recent regular work of Dead or Live was launched only three years ago, the Ninja series has not yet been released since 2012's Ninja 3. Fumihiko Yasuda, the 3rd generation director and 2nd generation level designer, has publicly stated on many occasions that she wants to resurrect the series.
In an interview with VGC in January 2021, Yasuda told foreign media that he has no plans to launch a new work of "Ninyu Dragon", but hopes to return one day.
