"Split Door: Arena War" maker 1047 Games today announced the acquisition of anti-cheating software developer EQU8.

EQU8 was founded in 2019 by Andreas Hansson, Pierre Lindblad and Sander Brauwers, and its technology has been used in the Split Gate game since 2020.
Through this acquisition, the gaming company will merge into 1047 Games, and its technology will become the studio's proprietary technology.
"Acquiring EQU8 is an important part of our anti-cheat strategy as we develop our next game," said Ian Proulx, CEO and co-founder of 1047 Games. "We take anti-cheat seriously. With our own internal solution, we can adjust our next game in real time, and the player base continues to grow, which is very strategic."

1047 Games announced in September that it began developing a new shooter game and stopped the development of new features for Split Gate. The developer said EQU8 will create an anti-cheat platform for its next game.
