We are at the ninth generation console, and the situation is roughly equivalent to the level 20 years ago. The two major brands on the market are PlayStation and Xbox. Japanese gaming consoles are its fifth incarnation, and Microsoft has the fourth American effort. Both devices are extremely powerful, with a range of exclusive titles, and choosing between them may have something to do with brand loyalty, just as much as it has original features now. While some features, such as the ability to buy games, cloud game and digital copies of online games, are very obvious, consoles like PlayStation 5 have some tricks that not everyone knows.
PlayStation 5 was launched about two years ago, and for most of that time, gaming consoles were difficult to master. The popularity of this model combined with the supply problems caused by the global semiconductor shortage means that the PS5 is not usually put on the shelves for a long time, even after 23 months on the market. The scalper also spent a wild day, snapping up PS5 devices as much as possible and selling them for up to twice the MSRP. To stay fair, retailers like Amazon have a waiting list and if customers want to buy PS5 they can join. But if you are lucky enough to have one, you may not be able to make the most of your gaming device. A recent survey conducted by SlashGear found that people are not aware of five useful features of the console. A survey of 611 US PS5 users by
SlashGear shows that nearly a quarter (23.08%) of people don’t know you can track game prices using your account’s wish list. This may be due to the wishlist feature being dumped in 2020. However, it was quietly brought back, which could actually save you the cost of buying digital games. Wishlist specializes in tracking digital copies of the game you are interested in and allows you to know when the item will start selling or will be priced down for any other reason. You can access the Wishlist feature by opening the PlayStation store and selecting the white heart icon in the upper right corner of the screen. You can add games to the list by selecting the "Add to Wishlist" option when viewing games in the store.
Wishlist is not the only feature our readers don't know; 22.42% of respondents don't know that you can use the PS5's activity feature to load specific tasks and game modes from the game library. Less than 20% of people don't know that the DualSense feature of their controllers, including vibration intensity, can be modified or disabled. More than 18% of readers don’t know that 3D audio is an option for their TV speakers, and 16.69% were surprised to find that the mouse and keyboard could be connected to the console. This is not an exhaustive list, and even if you know all of this, the popular console has a bunch of other hidden features you may not know about.
