In "Rampage", building a roller coaster is an important part of designing an amusement park, and the demo version shows this aspect. Through system guidance, players can build roller coaster tracks step by step to make their roller coaster reach the end point smoothly.
Start setting up the track.
I was a little worried about my construction skills before I started the demonstration. First, I have never been exposed to professional knowledge in planning, and second, I have some obsessive-compulsive disorder. If I made that wrong track, I would definitely compete with myself and had to adjust until I was satisfied. But in this way, time and freshness are wasted.
But when I was playing "Rampant Paradise", I didn't feel the above. In fact, the process of building a beautiful roller coaster track in this game is much easier than I thought, beyond my expectations.
There are two types of open tracks in the trial version: "flat tunnel" and "ramp". Within the extension of the current trajectory, the player can choose any place as the node and lay the next trajectory on this basis.
Laying the track is quite simple.
So the whole process of building a track is as simple and interesting as building a building block. In addition to some limitations caused by track length and terrain factors, players can freely decide the path and height of the track. When the track node is selected, the system will adjust the track shape appropriately, which also makes the entire road look smoother.
If the player wants, he can also lay a winding curve or a special scrolling track between the two nodes. These special tracks do not require extra operation, and can be formed by slightly adjusting on the basis of ordinary tracks.
However, laying tracks is not completely at will. The roller coaster of "Rampant Paradise" follows some basic physical laws. If the player builds a steep uphill track, the roller coaster will slowly slow down and even return to the starting point.
Fortunately, the production team has prepared the "Ghost Car" function, which can help players check it out at any time and find out which section of the road will have problems. When the system calibrates some target points, the player will be required to use the "ghost car" to test first, and then the next target point will be opened after the test is passed, ensuring the smooth progress of the entire game process.
"Ghost Car" can be directly adjusted to 8 times the speed.
In the process of building the track, I also discovered some tricks, such as designing various "big downhill" tracks, or placing fortresses at intersections. These measures can make the roller coaster accelerate and reach the end in one go.
After the track is laid, players can experience the roller coaster track they built from a first-person perspective. Accompanied by the cheerful background music, I rode the roller coaster I made myself. The falling runway stimulated my senses, and the feeling of flying cars flying in the air after the cannon fired is quite wonderful. While enjoying the cycling, I gained a sense of accomplishment. Let's stop here.
A designer and manager
This trial version of "Rampant Paradise" not only builds the basic level of roller coaster tracks, but also shows the so-called "sandbox mode".
In sandbox mode, the player plays the designer of the entire amusement park. The system will give players an initial fund and open several rides in advance. All players have to do is set up these facilities, control their budgets, and wait for the visitors to arrive.
For some business gamers, this model will definitely make them feel familiar. As planners of amusement parks, players need to allocate their resources reasonably, try their best to maintain customers' reputation, and then try their best to make the amusement park profitable. It can be seen that this is a classic simulation business game.
In addition to the ready-made rides, I found some interesting things in the construction interface: various parts. I took a rough look. These parts include landscape trees, flower beds, guide signs, etc., as well as building panels of large and small sizes. Together, there are hundreds of kinds. In other words, in addition to roller coaster tracks, players can create more new things through parts. By the way, these building parts are cheap.
The official promotional video also shows the corresponding functions. As long as players use enough parts, the bland ice cream shop can look super luxurious. Due to the diversity of components, visitors can even adopt a variety of decoration styles. In my opinion, these elements highlight the fun of "creating" in the game.
Decorated ice cream shop
Operating games and creating facilities does not represent the entire content of the game. In an earlier media interview, the book’s creative director Johannes Reithmann mentioned the plot mode, which is the part I want to play the most.
It’s a pity that there is no detailed content of the plot mode in this demo. However, several important NPCs have appeared in the game, such as Blaze; an assistant with a strange spirit; a passionate owner of the paradise; and a serious administrator lzzy. After the demo is over, Blaize will accompany the player. She will communicate with players at the right time to help them unlock more options. Phil will greet the player kindly after he finishes the level.
According to the official introduction, when taking on tasks in plot mode, players will communicate with different NPCs to decide which strategy to use to run the amusement park. Players will face different choices and have to consider the risks and rewards of the corresponding plan.
The trial version has related plots.
Some new characters will also appear in the plot, which may add a little difficulty to the player's tasks, or require persuasion. Different tasks include time constraints or profit constraints, and sometimes it is necessary to consider whether the construction space is sufficient. If some NPCs buy all the plots near the amusement park, players will face the result of "the game ends". In my opinion, these characters and challenges make the world of Rhapsody Land even more interesting. I can choose to operate slowly in the sandbox mode, but in comparison, I prefer not to be so lonely when building an amusement park. I hope to experience various wonderful stories and meet more reliable partners while expanding the amusement park. I hope the plot mode of "Rampant Paradise" can meet my needs.

From the trial version alone, "Rampant Paradise" actually has some subtle problems, such as the functional interface is not concise enough and the Chinese translation is incomplete, but these flaws do not affect my enjoyment of the game. The mechanisms of "Rampant Paradise" are very simple, and novices can easily play them after mastering the basic operations. After understanding the basic pattern, players can fully experience the sense of accomplishment of "building" and "operating".
