Vice President Zhang Wei mentioned in his speech that during the publication process, "Tsinghua Financial Review" found that although there are certain evaluation systems for the evaluation of journal influence in the international and domestic countries, the existing evaluation system is somewhat misaligned with journals like "Tsinghua Financial Review" that have both a certain academic foundation and a strong policy nature. If an evaluation system suitable for policy journals can be built, it will be of great benefit to enhancing the influence of journals. At the same time, he said that the seminar was held with the support of the "Double High Plan" project of the Liberal Arts Construction Department of Tsinghua University. It aims to investigate the market development situation, listen to experts' opinions and suggestions, learn advanced experience, and jointly discuss the journal evaluation system, in order to find a feasible path suitable for financial journals to enhance their influence, provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for the publication of "Tsinghua Financial Review", and further provide useful reference for the development of similar journals.
Vice President Yin Hong explained feasible ways to enhance the influence of journals based on introducing the process of "Financial Forum" to enhance the influence of journals. First, we must further clarify the academic positioning, so that the positioning can be expanded, so that the research field is relatively broad; second, we must actively submit manuscripts to improve the quality of manuscripts; third, we must establish an anonymous review system and select the best from the best. At the same time, she pointed out that it is crucial to establish and improve its own evaluation system for non-academic financial journals such as policy and practice, and it mainly starts from the contribution to policies, support for business development, and ability to predict and prevent risks.
In his speech, Vice President Zhong Hong introduced how "International Finance Research" can focus on the ideological and professional nature of the content while adhering to its academic journal positioning, such as focusing on topic selection, strictly anonymous review, and enriching the form of publication. Regarding journal evaluation, she believes that financial journals should not only adapt to the existing evaluation system, but also think about how to properly guide or influence the existing evaluation system. This is a direction that the financial journal community can consider working together in the future.
Deputy Editor-in-Chief He Weigang pointed out that it is necessary to build a new evaluation system for policy commentary and practical journals. He believes that the current evaluation system is still relatively single and the journals are highly homogeneous. There is also a certain disconnect between the evaluation subject and the actual audience, and the demand for journal evaluation is not consistent based on different purposes and uses. It is necessary to solve the problem of who will evaluate the journal. Therefore, a set of indicators that are different from the existing core journal evaluation system may play a leading role in the development of journals.
Editor-in-chief Zheng Xiangyang took "Hebei Finance" as an example to explain the journal's positioning and the criteria for judging article quality. He pointed out that the five factors in charge of the organizer's specifications and functions, audience group, author group, publishing department and the development stage of the journal determine the positioning of the journal. To run high-quality journals well, high-quality manuscripts and a high-level team are needed. The fundamental criterion for judging the quality of an article is ideological. When publishing a journal, you should avoid theoretical articles without ideas, policy articles not being implemented, simple problems become complicated, and clear problems become mysterious.
Director Yan Yan analyzed the reasons for the increase in the impact factor of "Management World" in recent years and summarized five experiences. First, the topic selection of journals should have both practical significance and academic value of .Second, we must pay attention to academic communication. Academic communication includes both new media communication and academic conferences and academic training. Third, in terms of manuscript composition, we will combine the commissioning and submission. Fourth, take into account both policy, practical and academic articles. Fifth, do not only affect factors, adhere to the development of journal characteristics, and do a good job in special columns and special topic selection.
Deputy General Manager Wang Wei explained some services provided by CNKI in the journal influence analysis, and conducted a journal influence analysis of Tsinghua Financial Review. She pointed out that the "Tsinghua Financial Review" founded in 2013 entered the Q2 area of the same subject three years after its publication. It is also the "youngest" journal in the Q1 and Q2 areas of this subject. In fact, it has maintained a relatively good journal publishing feature. The annual web download rate of Tsinghua Financial Review is much higher than the discipline average. At the same time, she also explained the accelerated integrated development, improved international communication capabilities, and strengthened publishing capacity building.
