OK, today we are going to study the I Ching, and the I Ching are composed of the two most basic symbols. "—" represents Yang; "- -" represents Yin.
Who created the I Ching? The popular saying is that Fuxi created the Xiantian Bagua. As shown below:
Everyone looks at this innate gossip, it is the sky above and the earth below. This is the same as in nature, the sky is above and the earth is below. There is nothing wrong with it, but it cannot be applied to our actual life. Therefore, the innate Bagua is the body. When
reached , King Wen of Zhou transformed it into , King Wen of Zhou transformed it into the following figure: was used for the Bagua .

If we change this circular Bagua Diagram to look at it in the human world and put it into our family residence, it would look like the picture below: (Note: From now on, the family residence will be referred to as “Yangzhai” for short)

Why are the southeast, northwest and northwest arranged in this way? Because our ancients talked about facing south, which is different from the current map, which is up, north and down. Since we study the Book of Changes, we must follow the habits of the ancients.
Why is the Qian Gua placed in the northwest position? Because the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in northwest China is the largest plateau in China and the highest in the world. It is called the roof of the world and the third pole. It represents heaven in nature.
Here we need to know the eight hexagrams Qian, Dui, Li, Zhen, Xun (xùn), Kan, Gen (ɡèn) and Kun. The symbol of Qian Gua is "three" and the three horizontal lines represent the three Yangs. A horizontal line is a yang.
The symbol of Qian hexagram is "Heaven", which is referred to as "Qian is Tian"; the symbol of Kun hexagram is "Earth", which is referred to as "Kun is Earth".
The symbols represented by Qian, Dui, Li, Zhen, Xun (xùn), Kan, Gen (ɡèn) and Kun in nature are: sky, Ze, fire, thunder, wind, water, mountain and earth. This is the basis of the I Ching. We need to memorize and master it.
This heaven and earth also represents Yin and Yang. The intersection of heaven and earth, and the intersection of Yin and Yang produce all things.
Looking at the human world, Qian is the sky, which is the husband, husband, and father; Kun is the earth, which is the wife, wife, and mother.
In the next lecture, we will talk about the essence of Qian Gua and Kun Gua?
