Master Mace Windu in "Star Wars", how much do you know

1. History

Mace Windu who appeared in the prequel to "Star Wars" left a very deep impression. Before becoming the first victim of Darth Vader, Windu wielded his unique purple sword, demonstrating his impressive fighting power in episodes two and three.

Despite his death, fans still want to know more about him. Why does he have a unique lightsaber color? Did he really defeat Darth Sidious? Is it possible for him to appear in an upcoming movie? Read on to learn more about Metz Windu!

Metz Windu was born on the planet Harenkar, about 50 years before the Clone Wars. He proved himself to be one of the most capable Jedi ever, earning the title of master very early. The Jedi Presbyterian Church gave Windu a seat. He became one of the most outspoken members of the Presbyterian Church. He was very skeptical of training the young Anakin Skywalker.

Later, in the Battle of Geonosis, Windu beheaded Jango Fett, arousing Boba Fett's hatred of the Jedi, which lasted his life. Windu fought many battles in the Clone Wars, and finally learned that Palpatine's true identity was Darth Sidious. Windu defeated Sidious in a duel, but was betrayed by Anakin and was blown up in a skyscraper, resulting in his death.

Few fans know that Metz Windu has a series of apprenticeship training careers. He trained Depa Bilaba, Kenan Jarles and Sla.

2. Lightsaber

Why is Windu's lightsaber purple? In the universe, he is not the only Jedi knight who has this idea. He passed a painful test when he was young and obtained his sword crystal.

Outside the universe, actor Samuel Jackson hopes to have something that will distinguish him from other Jedi knights, and he has a unique and easily recognizable sword.

Metz’s purple sword perfectly embodies his inner promise. It combines the blue of the Jedi and the red of the Sith, just like Metz has incorporated darkness into his battle, but is fighting for the Jedi.

3. Van Paide

Metz has created a violent variant of the seventh type lightsaber called "Van Paide". This cruel form allows a person to use dark emotions to gain speed and strength in battle, provided that one's emotions must be well controlled so that the user will not fall into darkness.

"Van Paide" gives great power, but has a great opportunity to enter the dark side; this is a good proof of Metz's character, he used this form for a long time without entering the dark side. This also allowed Windu to defeat Darth Sidious. Some fans debated that Sidious deliberately let Windu win, but in the third episode (Sith’s Revenge), George Lucas confirmed that Sidious had not given up the fight.

4. Broken Point

Metz Windu has a very rare skill among those who use force, called "Broken Point". It allows users to see cracks or fault lines in individuals or structures. The "Break Point" allows you to attack the target at a very precise location and can instantly crush the target. In the non-legendary timeline, Luke Skywalker, Jaina Solo, and Darth Kaidos also learned this technique.

Although Windu was talented in "Vanders" and "Broken Point," he made several key mistakes, which largely contributed to the demise of the Jedi Order. Here is a list.

He believes Earl Dooku is innocent

In an early scene in the second episode of Attack of the Clones, Padmé correctly assumed that Earl Dooku planned her assassination attempt. Mace Windu immediately denied this and used Dooku's former Jedi identity as evidence. Of course, we know that Dooku is not only behind the scenes, he even became the Lord of the Sith.

He denied Palpatine's proposal to be a suspect of Darth Sidious.

Windu discussed the identity of Sidious with Obi-Wan and Yoda. At this point, the three masters knew that Sidious had at least some influence in the Senate. Windu explained that he would doubt Palpatine, but Palpatine had effectively taken charge of the galaxy, served as the Speaker, and cleared his doubts from Metz's mind. Once again, we see that Mace’s overconfidence is not halalphase.

5. He ignored Anakin's desperate plea

Metz defeated Sidious, but if he just stopped and listened to Anakin, this Jedi might never fall. Anakin begged Metz to spare Sidious, on the grounds that the execution of prisoners of war was not what the Jedi did. Then, Anakin even exclaimed "I need him!" Metz ignored him and planned to kill him, leading to Anakin's betrayal and the rise of the empire. If Obi-Wan or Yoda were there, the outcome of the matter would be very different.

6. He did not bring Anakin to the Palpatine standoff location.

Metz refused to bring Anakin and his team to fight Palpatine, even though Anakin asked to accompany them and only summoned the other three. Name Jedi. If Anakin fought side by side with the Jedi, they would unite. In addition, Anakin has just taken a very loyal move, exposing Palpatine as Sidious and winning Metz's trust, which makes Metz's mistake even more tragic.

As an imperfect but intimidating Jedi, Metz has worked tirelessly for the Republic throughout his life. Some fans believe that because we have never seen his body, Windu may still be alive. Although I think it's unlikely, it would be interesting to see his return in the upcoming "Star Wars" movie.
