I feel very excited
Last year, the company established its Greater Bay Area headquarters in Guangzhou, which is very exciting news. In the future, it will be more convenient for us to work in other cities in the Greater Bay Area. At the beginning of this year, I went to Guangzhou to participate in the recording of the Spring Festival Gala program of Guangdong TV . I collaborated with Joey Yung and Chen Kaizhou on a New Year's Eve stage performance. Also recording at the same time were my good friends Twins. It felt like we were back more than ten years ago. , I went to visit the company’s office in the Greater Bay Area. The work atmosphere and food in the Greater Bay Area are so attractive to me, and the audience is also very enthusiastic. In the future, I hope to have more opportunities to work in the mainland, such as recording variety shows, entertainment, and doing charity work.
Compared to other cities, I am more familiar with Guangzhou. I used to go here often to work or perform. Guangzhou and Hong Kong have similar cultures, similar languages, similar living habits, and the variety of food is amazing! Many of my junior brothers and sisters have developed their careers here. Although I am very familiar with Guangzhou, I still feel that Guangzhou has changed a lot over the years and new things are constantly emerging. Now that the company has set up an office in Guangzhou, it has provided us with more convenient conditions for understanding the entertainment industry in the Greater Bay Area and developing here. I hope to spend more time in Guangzhou and have an in-depth understanding of all aspects.
I believe that the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will bring closer exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland in entertainment, film and television, and the entire industry will get better and better. For example, "The Sound" that everyone is watching recently is a communication channel, allowing more people to understand Cantonese songs through the program. I hope there will be more ways to present and inherit the culture of the Greater Bay Area in the future, and I will actively do this myself.
I have been developing in the mainland for many years.
There are challenges but also rewards.
Last year, I participated in the "Bay Area Rising Moon" Greater Bay Area Mid-Autumn Festival film and music party. I sang "My China" with Zhang Mingmin, Zhong Zhentao and many other teachers. "Heart", I am still very excited to be able to sing this exciting song on stage with so many outstanding teachers. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. Not long ago, I participated in the "Our Bauhinia" cloud concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. I sang "Yellow Race" with Bai Jugang in Mandarin and Cantonese through the air. Sing to bless Hong Kong. This song has a very exciting atmosphere. Through singing, I believe more young people will be moved by the melody of this classic song.
Actually, I entered mainland China to film movies more than ten years ago. I remember that Mandarin was not very good at that time and it was a bit difficult to communicate. But everyone in the crew took good care of me, and I felt very warm inside.At first I thought I would be "homesick", but with the help of many seniors from Hong Kong and mainland colleagues, I adapted quickly. They would share with me many processes and things to pay attention to when filming TV series in the mainland. Now What's the trend? Sometimes we finish work and have a hot pot together, or go shopping somewhere. The days are quite fun. Now my Mandarin has improved a lot. Sometimes when I meet Joey and Twins, I will talk about many experiences of working and living in the Mainland and interesting things they have encountered.
Last year, I worked in Mainland China for nearly half a year. I deeply feel the different working models and work rhythms between the Mainland and Hong Kong. The one that impressed me the most was " The Masked Dancer ". This was my first time on a mainland variety show, and I enjoyed the process very much.
Breaking through my own limits is a great experience for me when working in the Mainland. For example, in the costume drama "心", I played a pair of twin brothers. The two brothers have completely different personalities. I acted opposite myself. This is the most difficult thing, but I am willing to challenge and break through. .
I hope to cooperate more with
Greater Bay Area music talents in the future.
Next, I will have many film and television works to be released one after another. Currently, the film "Customs Front" has been completed.
In terms of music, I have also released a lot of new Cantonese songs in the past two years. I hope to accumulate more and have the opportunity to hold a solo concert next time. I also hope to collaborate with more musicians in the Greater Bay Area. Now there are many young music talents in the Greater Bay Area. Their music types are very rich, including electronic, RAP, etc. I hope to cooperate with them more to bring out new styles in my music.
Youth exchange starts with sharing things around you
Guangzhou Daily: Nowadays, many Hong Kong artists or young friends want to develop in the mainland. Do you have any suggestions?
Guan Zhibin: I would advise them to learn more about the local lifestyle when they go to a place. For example, trying local food, understanding the culture and history, and visiting local attractions can help you integrate into the local area faster.
Guangzhou Daily: Do you have any thoughts or suggestions on the exchanges between young people from the mainland and Hong Kong?
Guan Zhibin: For young friends, our communication can start from things around us. For example, many young people like to share their fashion outfits, life hobbies, favorite actors, movies and TV series, etc. on online platforms. These topics can easily bring them closer together.
Guangzhou Daily: Emperor Entertainment’s Greater Bay Area headquarters will be settled in Guangzhou in 2021. Will it consider shifting its focus to the mainland in the future? Are there any collaborations you can reveal now?
Guan Zhibin: The audience in the mainland is very enthusiastic and the entertainment industry has great development potential. I especially hope to have more opportunities to meet the audience in the mainland. At the beginning of this year, I cooperated with my juniors and juniors from the Greater Bay Area headquarters. I look forward to continuing to cooperate with them in music in the future and creating more sparks of inspiration.
