Today's accounting industry is increasingly complex and globalized, Lancaster University 's MSc Accounting and Financial Management program provides academic training at the cutting edge of accounting and financial management knowledge.

This is a great way to get a solid foundation on which you can build a career in accounting, investment banking or financial analysis.

During this course, if you meet the minimum performance standards in the first semester, you will have the opportunity to receive training and sit for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 professional examination during the course.

On successful completion of the Master's programme, you will also automatically receive an exemption from most foundation level papers from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), depending on your module selections in Semester 2.

This program balances theory with applied learning, using real working examples to improve skills and understanding. You will learn the principles of financial reporting and the foundations of finance, with the opportunity to study modules such as Financial Statement Analysis , Advanced Management Accounting or Advanced Investment Management.

To help address industry skills gaps and give you a competitive advantage in the job market, you will also have the opportunity to develop key transferable job market skills such as data analysis and computer programming (using Python, R, Stata, MATLAB and SAS); and will be trained on industry standard data platforms such as Bloomberg and FactSet.

1. Academic requirements

2:1 (British Honors) A degree in finance, accounting, economics or other business-related disciplines or equivalent . Non-business graduates with strong quantitative elements may also be considered.
