Pennsylvania State University, University Park (Pennsylvania State University, University Park) was built in 1855 as a public school in State College, Pennsylvania, with a total area of approximately 18,370 acres. It is the flagship school of the University of Pennsylvania system and one of the original eight "public Ivy League schools". "One of the four "state-related" universities in Pennsylvania, and the top university in the state. It has a wealth of majors, covering almost all fields such as nature, humanities, and art. It has been rated as the best university in the northeastern United States by the Princeton Review.
In these fields, teachers and students of the school have made outstanding contributions to the development of human society, especially engineering and economics disciplines. Pennsylvania State University has 24 campuses across the country, with the main campus located in Parker. There are currently more than 80,000 students enrolled in more than 160 majors. It is one of the ten largest public universities in the United States and can award bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees.
The campus where Penn State University Park is located covers almost all of Pennsylvania’s colleges and universities, and is located near the center of Pennsylvania. As the flagship campus of the Penn State system, Penn State University Park has the most stringent admissions standards, mainly because most Penn State students make this campus their first choice.
The school ranks among the best in American university rankings for engineering, business, medical and other disciplines. In particular, the engineering discipline ranks 11th in the world's rankings of higher education institutions. The four major disciplines of social sciences, economics and trade, medicine, and mathematics are also among the top 50 in the world. In the subject rankings published by the National Science Foundation , the school's materials engineering major ranks second in the United States, electronic engineering and mechanical engineering rank third, and psychology major ranks first.
