① Cubes are often practiced by beginners when learning perspective and expressing volume. The near and far are small, which are natural phenomena of vision. This is one of the most important knowledge points we need to learn by drawing cubes.

It is recommended that students draw the two geometric bodies separately, first draw the square cone and then draw the cube. It is important to pay attention to the perspective relationship between the two. Once they are not sure, they will feel that the two geometric bodies are not in the same space.

⑨The same geometric body consists of a cone and a cylinder, which is more difficult, has more circles, and has more perspective. There is a small trick when drawing a cylinder, which is to first draw a rectangle, and then draw a cylinder inside (as shown in the picture). This method is very beneficial to students' understanding, and the circles in front and back of the cylinder are not easy to draw crookedly. Whether it is placed normally or upside down, it requires a lot of practice time to master it!

① Then we will draw some basic gypsum combinations, similar to simple combinations such as a cube and a cuboid, a cube and a sphere. You can try more and try different angles, upside down and oblique ways. Don’t draw too many things, just draw the shape well. The purpose of this is to lay the foundation for drawing a complete sketch of still life. The still life combination has an occlusion relationship and a spatial relationship. It is necessary to ensure that the spaces of the two are the same. One cannot be looked down and the other is looking up. Such a spatial relationship is not true.

②After trying some left and right placement and front and back placement, you can also try to superimpose up and down like the works in the picture below. To make the still life above steadily place it on top, the perspective relationship between the two still lifes must be correct. This combination is also to train students' spatial processing ability and will be very helpful for later learning.

① Finally, let’s try three types of gypsum and a combination form with a little tone. First of all, the combination of the three types of gypsum tests the students’ picture processing ability. At the same time, the main object combination in conventional still life combinations is generally about three, so this kind of exercise is very beneficial for students to plan the arrangement of the picture. Here we will talk about composition (there will be a special topic for composition knowledge points). Then there is the tone. We only need to find the dark parts and projections of the gypsum geometry, and then unify them. We can also slightly increase some important places. We must not draw too much. Our main purpose is to understand the shape. Taking a little tone is just to make students more familiar with the painting steps and have a little awareness of light and shadow.
