On September 29, South China Normal University Graduate School held a special lecture on "The First Lesson of Graduate Career: Paper Reading and Writing and Academic Standards". The lecture aims to help graduate students develop scientific research thinking, improve their ability to search, read and write documents, and strengthen academic norms and academic ethics. The lecture was held at the Graduate School of China Normal University and was held simultaneously online through live broadcast. He believes that professional training and professional thinking training for graduate students are very important, and scientific research innovation often comes from thinking about social practice and academic development. In the report, he showed students through multiple cases that "feelings, intuitions, rumors and even data are often unreliable". Only by understanding the production process of appearances or data can one find out the truth.
Liang Yucheng believes that social science research should make good use of data-driven strategies and explain them with text data and image data as examples. Liang Yucheng suggested that graduate students should have interdisciplinary thinking and thinking, and encourage students to practice more, try more, and do more, and not be hindered from the fear in their imagination. After the report, Liang Yucheng answered questions from the students attending the meeting about "meta-questions", graduate career planning, etc., and once again encouraged the students to think more and ask more questions.

In the report, she gave a detailed introduction to academic resource search, literature reading, paper writing, and the use of literature management tools, and focused on explaining the definition of academic misconduct, emphasizing the importance of complying with academic norms, and advocating responsible scientific research behaviors. She believes that improving graduate students' scientific research literacy and strengthening academic normative education are the basis and prerequisite for graduate students' scientific research innovation.
Chinese Normal University Graduate School Teacher Wang Jian emphasized that the quality of graduate training has always been the lifeline of graduate education, and academic norms and academic ethics education are important contents of graduate training.
He said that the school has always attached great importance to the standardized academic education of graduate students and has taken a series of measures to strictly control the quality of papers. "I hope that through this lecture, we will continue to strengthen the construction of graduate students' scientific ethics and academic style, help students further correct their academic attitudes, consolidate their academic foundation, standardize paper writing, improve the quality of papers, consciously resist academic misconduct, and maintain the bottom line of academic research."
This lecture was jointly organized by China National Knowledge Infrastructure and South China Normal University .
CNKI Relevant person in charge said that in order to help universities strengthen academic normative education for graduate students and improve their scientific research literacy, China National Knowledge Infrastructure·CNKI Research and Study has held the "First Lesson of Research Career" national university tour since 2019. It has held nearly a thousand events in universities across the country, with more than 300,000 participants. This special lecture at South China Normal University is also the first national university tour event in 2022 "The First Lesson of Research Career" and will be held in other universities in the future.
