According to reports, a student who hacked into the computer network of a British university and earned thousands of dollars by selling test answers was sentenced. The student had been illegally accessing the computer system of his university from November 2017 to May 2019. He downloaded 216 files from the system, including test papers, grading, reports and coursework. Earned $27,000 by selling copies of illegally obtained documents. It is reported that the school lecturer found that many students had the same test answers, and the typos of five of the students' answers were even consistent with those in the original working documents. Then the lecturer suspected a data breach. In order to determine the extent of the breach, the university processed 140 million log-in records of the university and eventually found that it was associated with the student's residence. To this end, the university spent 138,000 US dollars in this invasion. The student is currently sentenced to 9 months probation and ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
