
Luoyang Normal University is an ordinary undergraduate college in Henan Province, located in Luoyang City, Henan Province.
The predecessor of the school was Heluo Normal School, which was founded in 1916. It was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in 2000 and was named Luoyang Normal University. In 2007, the school passed the assessment of undergraduate teaching work level of the Ministry of Education with good results. In 2011, it was approved as a pilot unit for the training of graduate students with master's degree in professional degree in , and in 2015, it was approved as a part-time graduate student in . In 2018, it passed the review and evaluation of undergraduate teaching work of the Ministry of Education with excellent results. In 2020, the school was listed as a university for the construction of characteristic backbone disciplines in Henan Province.
The school currently has 22 colleges, including the School of Marxism, the School of Literature, the School of History and Culture, the School of Law and Society, 2 public teaching and research departments, and 72 undergraduate majors, covering 10 majors such as literature, science, engineering, and economics. The school currently has more than 28,000 full-time students and more than 10,000 students of various adult education.
