Speaking of Geophysical Exploration Branch 1, it is the original Geophysical Exploration Middle School. Everyone just knows that there is such a school, but what is this school like? Not to mention many people, I have been in the education industry of Zhuozhou for more than 30 years and have always been an educator in high schools. I know very little, let alone everyone. I have never been to this school for decades, and I feel very regretful. Now I have been retired for more than ten years, and I think I may not have the chance to appreciate his beauty.
On September 22, 2022, I came to the Geophysical Discovery Branch with some members of the "Three Cleansing Writing Team". When I arrived at the school, I was just about to catch up with the students' exercises during breaks. The students lined up in a neat line and ran on the playground. By watching the students' team, I first learned how many students there are in this school, with a total of 24 classes, with 50 people in each class, and a total of 1,200 people. After inquiry, I learned that the school has three grades, each grade has 8 classes. The students were all full of energy when running and their slogans were loud. By looking at the students' mental outlook, you can know the school's level at the management level.
After watching the exercises during class, we were able to watch the whole picture of the school. "The morning smoke is everywhere, the willows are green, and the spring rain is red in the garden." On the campus, the trees are lush, the grass is green, and the fragrance of flowers is elegant. Comfortable and pleasant. The tall teaching building, warm and tidy student apartment, spacious and hygienic student canteen, a high-standard sports field, inspiring inspirational mottos, and a bright and clean classroom, forming an elegant and comfortable educational environment, forming a campus culture with a humanistic atmosphere. We visited the school's teaching building, student apartment, student canteen, and school exhibition room in turn, watched the school's promotional videos and held discussions with school leaders, and had an in-depth understanding of the school in all aspects. First talk about the student canteen. When you enter the canteen, what catches your eyes is a clean and tidy environment. By looking at the recipes, price lists and materials, you can see that the food in this canteen is of high quality and very cheap. After understanding, you will know that the canteen does not adopt the form of contract. The school requires that the student canteen is not allowed to make profits. In addition, it is also rated as an A-level canteen. This is the only one among all schools in Zhuozhou. From this we can see that the student canteen of Geophysics Branch 1 is very responsible for food safety and attaches great importance to the interests of students.
Let’s talk about the student apartment of Geophysical 1 branch. When entering the student apartment building, the first thing is the check-in machine of the students and the administrator, which is a face-scanning machine. According to the school leaders, the check-in machine is connected to the school’s computer room. Any student who has not left the dormitory on time or has not returned to the dormitory on time can be quickly displayed by the teacher on duty at the school. Someone will understand and deal with it in time, minimizing the emergencies and dangerous situations of students to the greatest extent. Looking at the student dormitory, the quilts were neatly folded. Although they were not tofu blocks for military soldiers, they were already very good. The books studied on the bedside table were arranged in an orderly manner, the shoes under the bed were arranged in a line, and other items were also placed according to regulations. What made me sigh most was that the toilet in the dormitory building was very clean, without any urine stains or smells. This was not easy. Looking back at the work I was responsible for this part when I was working, I knew how difficult this job was. I respected the management of this dormitory alone.
I admire the leadership team of Geophysical 1 Branch for the first time and lead by example. First of all, the secretary, principal and vice principal share the same office. I am ignorant, which is not available in other schools.Secretary Wang Jichen, Principal Kong Haibin, and Vice Principal Hu Yanzhong all teach on the front line. Secretary Wang Jichen teaches chemistry, with 16 classes a week, and has just stepped down as head teacher. Principal Kong Hailin teaches history with 20 classes per week, and Vice Principal Hu Yanzhong teaches mathematics with 26 classes per week. I have never seen a school-level first, second and third-level leader attending class, and it is full of workload. This is not a show, but it is real. Secretary Wang Jichen and Principal Kong Haibin both grew up from grassroots to school leaders, from ordinary teachers, directors, vice principals, principals, and secretarys to working together for more than 20 years.
In terms of management of teachers, some management concepts and practices also refreshed me. First of all, we respect teachers enough and respect teachers' personalization. Each teacher has his own model, give full play to their strengths, affirm teachers, and tailor professional development goals for teachers. The main focus is on praise, the teacher is not depressed, comfortable and happy. The school’s humanized management does not have any rigid requirements for teachers. And they are taken care of by teachers with special circumstances. For example, some teachers need to send their children to school in the morning and schedule classes later, and some teachers have to go home at noon to cook for their children, so they do not arrange the last class. It also creates various conditions to help teachers grow professionally, business, improve teaching ability and research ability. Therefore, the teachers turned the school's care and help into a conscious and dedicated spirit, unremitting pursuit, and hard work, creating a first-class teacher team that is self-improvement, unity, and innovative and enterprising. Every year, a large number of teachers have won awards in college entrance examinations, unified examinations, and subject competitions.
The first-class teaching team will definitely teach first-class students. They teach according to their aptitude, teach in a layered manner, promote in all aspects, small class teaching, tutor-based tutoring, constantly update teachers' teaching concepts and methods, activate teachers' thinking, improve teaching efficiency, enable students to develop in all aspects, and form the characteristics of the school. The school’s teaching quality is very high, and the teaching quality has steadily improved in recent years.
People-oriented, moral education comes first. The school’s moral education work is vivid, and the moral education activities are rich in content. The school pays attention to students’ moral cultivation and personalized development. “The national flag speech, Lei Feng learning activities, patriotism education , revolutionary traditional education , sports individual competitions, poverty alleviation, campus cultural activities, etc., waters the upward and good moral education flowers in the hearts of students, inspire students’ minds and nourishes their hearts. These activities promote the spirit of patriotism and strengthen patriotism education, and enhance students’ sports. The initiative in exercise has formed good training habits, provided students with a platform to show themselves, allowed students to learn to share and contribute, and guide students to establish a correct outlook on life and values. Various forms of moral education have cultivated students' excellent qualities. If positive development is carried forward, there will be fewer negative things.
Basic exploration branch 1 is simple, "people-oriented", caring for teachers and students, and they will definitely take advantage of the situation and achieve more brilliant results.
