Background: On July 30, 2019, Harbin Institute of Technology "Brain Science and Brain-like Intelligence Research Center" and "Brain Science and Brain Disease Laboratory" were officially established. And jointly built with Heilongjiang Provincial Hospital .
Brain Science and Brain-like Intelligence Research Center: was jointly established by the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, School of Computer Science, School of Life, Robotics Research Institute, Department of Control of the School of Aerospace Science, and Basic Science Research Center of Harbin Institute of Technology.
The center will follow the cross-scientific research strategy of "from understanding the brain to simulating the brain" and vigorously carry out research on brain science , brain-like intelligence and brain-computer interface , including research on the pathological mechanisms of mental diseases and cognitive laws. And research on neural mechanisms, brain-controlled exoskeleton and exoskeleton system, smart medical and brain health platform development, etc.
Brain Science and Brain Disease Laboratory: was jointly established by the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology, the School of Computer Science and Technology of Harbin Institute of Technology and Heilongjiang Provincial Hospital.
The laboratory will aim at the future development direction of international brain science and brain disease research, carry out innovative research in the research of brain cognitive laws and neural mechanisms, analysis of the pathological mechanisms of mental diseases, brain disease assessment and rehabilitation technology, and vigorously promote scientific research. Cooperation and talent exchange, actively promote resource sharing, and create a highly competitive scientific research force and technical cooperation team.
In-depth research on brain science and brain diseases is imperative. The establishment of Harbin Institute of Technology's Brain Science and Brain Disease Laboratory marks a solid step in the cooperation between HIT and Heilongjiang Provincial Hospitals. It will definitely promote more school-university cooperation and the early implementation of medical-engineering cross-results.
