Hello everyone, today is December 31, 2022. On the occasion of New Year’s Eve, I wish everyone a happy holiday. Follow my perspective below to see the latest news these days.
①, Huawei said that it must survive with quality; ②, SMIC’s 12-inch wafer foundry production line was completed, with a monthly production capacity of up to 100,000 pieces; ③, Redmi 12c was released, starting from 699 yuan.
①, Huawei executives said that they must have quality to survive in 2023
On December 30, 2022, Huawei's rotating chairman Xu Zhijun said in his New Year's message: Huawei's revenue is expected to be 636.9 billion yuan in 2022, a slight increase from 2021.
In the past few years, Huawei has faced four major crises, namely: chip crisis, 5G crisis, communication equipment crisis, and Google service crisis.
chip crisis: OEMs such as TSMC are unable to OEM Kirin chips for Huawei. Huawei can only purchase chips from friends.
5G crisis: Due to sanctions, Huawei cannot purchase 5g chips, and the models sold by Huawei do not support 5g networks. As the leader of 5G mobile phones, Huawei cannot sell 5G mobile phones, which is a tragedy.
Communication equipment crisis: Many foreign companies do not accept Huawei's communication equipment , and even dismantle Huawei's running equipment. Huawei's communication equipment's overseas journey is complicated and confusing.
Google service crisis: Due to overseas sanctions, Huawei mobile phones sold overseas do not support Google services, so Huawei mobile phone sales are dismal in overseas markets. For quite some time, it has been difficult for Huawei mobile phones to gain a foothold in overseas markets.
In the past three years, the development of Huawei's mobile phone business and communication equipment business has stagnated, and there are even signs of regression.
Even so, Huawei is still surviving tenaciously. In the words of Xu Zhijun, Huawei's rotating chairman: The impact of foreign sanctions has weakened, and Huawei has turned the corner. In 2023, Huawei must survive with quality.
likes Huawei and looks forward to Huawei company achieving greater glory in 2023 and once again becoming the leader in smartphones.
②, SMIC’s 12-inch wafer production line has been capped, with a monthly production capacity of 100,000 wafers.
On December 29, 2022, SMIC’s 12-inch wafer foundry production line in Shanghai successfully reached its peak.
This production line is a factory built according to the Twin Fab method. After completion, the factory's wafer foundry will reach 100,000 pieces.
Speaking of SMIC, friends who are more concerned about chip foundry are all familiar with it.
SMIC is the largest chip foundry in my country and the fourth largest chip foundry in the world. SMIC can mass-produce 28nm process technology chips, and can mass-produce 14nm process technology chips on a small scale. Kirin 710a is the representative work of SMIC's 14nm process technology.
Speaking of the growth history of SMIC, it can be said that it has been a journey of twists and turns, which makes people quite sad.
In August 2000, Zhang Rujing established SMIC in Shanghai Pudong .
htm. l0In 2002, SMIC independently developed the first chip to achieve mass production
In March 2004, SMIC was listed in the United States and obtained funds from the global market.
In 2009, the dispute between SMIC and TSMC came to an end. The two parties settled with SMIC paying US$175 million in compensation.
In 2011, 2011, and 2015, state-owned capital invested in SMIC and became SMIC's major shareholder. Since then, SMIC has been in the hands of the Chinese people and serves the motherland's chip industry.
In 2017, Liang Mengsong joined SMIC and became the CEO of SMIC, taking SMIC's development to a new level.
Looking back on the past 22 years, SMIC has grown through hardships, step by step, and eventually became a chip foundry giant, freeing my country's chip foundry business from being restricted by foreign companies.
③, Redmi 12C was released, with a starting price of 699 yuan
On December 31, 2022, the Redmi brand released its last mobile phone in 2022. This mobile phone has three versions, namely:
4+64GB version, priced at 699 yuan.
4+128GB version, priced at 799 yuan.
6+128GB version, priced at 899 yuan.
From a price point of view, Redmi 12c is a 100-yuan phone, competing with its own Redmi 10a.
As a 100-yuan phone, the configuration of Redmi 12c can only be described as unsatisfactory.
Redmi 12 is equipped with MediaTek G85 processor, battery capacity is 5000 mAh, and charging is 10W. There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front, a 50-megapixel camera on the rear, and the screen material is a 720p LCD screen.
From the configuration point of view, Redmi 12c does not have many highlights. Apart from the cheap enough price and 5000mAh battery, Redmi 12c can’t find anything to attract users.
Even so, Redmi 12c will still have good sales. In the 100-yuan phone market, Redmi is alone and has few rivals that can compete with it.
Looking back on the development history of Redmi mobile phones in the past ten years, you will find that Redmi mobile phones have always adhered to a high cost-effective strategy. The same price configuration is the highest; the same configuration is the cheapest. This is the biggest advantage of Redmi mobile phones, and it is also the business philosophy of Redmi mobile phones.
