It should be said that since the adaptive aging transformation, the changes in mobile apps have not been small, but it is not necessary to deny that many app transformations still have unsatisfactory aspects. , such as small fonts, many advertisements, and pop-up windows that are difficult to close, are still a trouble for young people, and even more so for the elderly. Although many elderly computers and aging-friendly APPs have been launched on the market with large font sizes and simple interfaces, the user experience is not good.
The author's grandfather also complained that "the mobile phone is too stuck". At first, the author thought it was just a simple memory full, and it was only when he lit up his phone screen: there was a "sliding unlock" sign at the bottom of the page full of advertisements. Problems such as "fake unlocking" are just the tip of the iceberg: since APP developers do not have the same name as the product, some are called "big-font version" and "simple version", and some are called "elderly mode" and "elderly mode", which makes many elderly people unable to start when installing and downloading the first step; some elderly APPs only set large fonts on the first level interface, and when entering the second level interface, they return to normal font sizes... and other things restrict the elderly from crossing this " digital divide ".
At present, the Internet is no longer just a trend for young people. The scale of elderly netizens is gradually increasing. As of December 2021, the number of elderly netizens aged 60 and above reached 119 million, accounting for 11.5% of the overall proportion of netizens. shows that the elderly people’s demand for mobile phones and the Internet should not be ignored.
Small fonts, many advertisements, and pop-up windows are not easy to close. This not only prevents the elderly from enjoying the convenience of modern technology, but also needs to consider how to avoid letting the elderly fall into the trap of online fraud. Even if an emergency occurs, will the basic communication function of the mobile phone be affected by pop-up windows that keep popping up.
Aging-friendly transformation is by no means a blind font size enlargement function to simplify . Perhaps, in addition to improving quality from the perspective of technology, training on content screening and operation and use of the elderly should not be ignored.
