At ordinary overseas TV manufacturers, they will display their products at the CES exhibition at the beginning of the year, and then all the products of this year will be released in spring and summer. However, domestic TV manufacturers do not have a special schedule for TVs released in the domestic market, and they are more willful and casual. However, domestic brand TVs listed overseas are basically the same as other manufacturers, including TCL and Hisense . So we often see Hisense and TCL TVs being launched early overseas, and then domestic products of the same level are released at other points in time.
Manufacturers like Samsung , Sony , LG released their products this year in China early in the first half of the year. After all, the global unified model is on sale, so there are generally no new products in the second half of the year. Most of the popular products that have been launched in the country recently come from domestic TV brands. Considering that Double Eleven is coming and there is a World Cup at the end of the year, some users will definitely still need to replace their TVs. Recently, many friends have consulted us on some of our popular new phones. Here we will give a brief comment on the recently launched hot new TVs.
Hisense U8H: Currently the strongest Mini LED TV
Every time it is the year of a football competition, Hisense will come out to cause trouble. After all, as the world's most keen TV manufacturer that sponsors large football competitions, it is impossible for Hisense to launch TV products without taking advantage of the World Cup popularity. In fact, TCL is the same, but TCL especially likes to sponsor other sports events, such as basketball... So although Hisense U8H was released early overseas, it was actually launched in the second half of the year. The strongest thing about
U8H is of course the specifications. The 65-inch backlight partition has 1,456, while the 85-inch backlight partition has 2,432. As for 8K UX, I won’t say much. After all, 8K TVs are not in demand, and more than 85-inch TVs are over 50,000 yuan, and the price of 110-inches exceeds 200,000 yuan, which is not something that many people can afford. However, in terms of backlit specifications, Hisense U8H is indeed the peak of domestic TVs, and even this specification has an absolute advantage compared to overseas brands.
After Hisense absorbed Toshiba , the image quality optimization technology has been improving. Even the image quality chips used by Toshiba in Japan were actually created by Hisense. Of course, there must be differences in software optimization solutions. However, compared with TCL, Hisense's TVs of the same grade of the same grade crush TCL in image quality, but there is actually no big doubt. U8H is obviously a match for TCL's X11 series, which should be the highest-end LCD TV in China at present.
In addition to the large number of backlight partitions, U8H also has the advantage of high peak brightness, reaching 2000nits, and can maintain peak brightness for a long time. The full-screen brightness is also one of the best in LCD TVs, so you will have an excellent highlight experience when playing games or watching HDR videos. In addition, due to the stable high brightness and the new coating that reduces the reflectivity of , it has a good ambient light contrast. Watching TV in a bright daily environment will not be affected by the ambient light too significantly, which is even stronger than OLED TV . The U8H has its own image quality chip, which is actually the same as the image quality chip used by Toshiba Japan. Its color accuracy and color are first-class. The audio part uses
This product performs very well under bright pictures, with vivid and detailed pictures outstanding. However, the problem is that the screen of ADS Pro with BOE , which is the obsidian screen. The viewing angle is good but the contrast is low. Hisense itself says it can reach 2500:1, but in fact it is only about 2000:1 at most. In addition, the Mini LED backlight module has been improved, but it is still incomparable to Mini LED TVs with VA panels. So although its black position effect is excellent, the dark details are still not as good as some VA panel TVs. This is a flaw, unless Hisense does not use BOE's ADS Pro screen. There are not many other parts of
. Hisense has fewer small problems than TCL, and it does well in frame matching and anti-shake. However, Hisense's 240Hz refresh rate is not very meaningful. This solution that reduces the resolution through HSR technology and increases the refresh rate, and then stretches it to 4K, will destroy the image quality, and many external devices will not support such a high refresh rate. It is enough to do 4K/120Hz well.
In general, Hisense U8H is currently the strongest Mini LED TV in China, but overseas U8H uses VA panels and domestically uses BOE ADS PRO panels, which makes us feel a little different. If you don't mind the low contrast of BOE's ADS PRO panel, then this TV will basically have no complaints. As for whether it is worth buying, not superstitious about overseas brands, and want to get high-end TVs with excellent picture quality, Hisense U8H should be a good choice now, with 65-inch 15,999 yuan not short of money to get.
Hisense E8H: Beat TCL Q10G, good cost-effective
If TCL's Q10G in the first half of the year was an internet celebrity Mini LED TV, then Hisense's E8H in the second half of the year was obviously targeted at Q10G. Of course, we also made reviews for TCL Q10G, and there are quite a lot of problems and the picture quality is relatively average, and these things seem to be not so obvious on Hisense E8H. At least compared to the Mini LED TVs from Hisense's E series last year, this year's E8H is obviously much more sincere, and it can be regarded as a product worthy of users' attention in the second half of the year.
This chip still uses MediaTek MT9652. Basically, Hisense's current TVs, including Toshiba, use this chip. Therefore, a common feature has been shown in many places, such as three HDMI interfaces, only one HDMI 2.1, such as no USB 3.0 interface, the USB 2.0 channel that WiFi 6 is used, and the maximum is about 300Mbps, etc. Of course, the advantage of this mid-range chip is that it solves the fuzzy problems of VRR and 4K/120Hz, so manufacturers don’t have to worry about these problems. Of course, the
screen part is still BOE ADS Pro. As for the static contrast, it is quite bad, and it is probably higher than 1500:1. Some tests say it is around 2000:1. Our actual tests cannot reach this data, and it is still very IPS-like. The improvement of this screen is that the dim corners under the white screen are not obvious, but there is still a problem of uneven brightness under the black screen. This is the deadlock of the IPS-type panel, and the same is true for U8H. The reflectivity of obsidian screens is relatively low now, so when you actually watch, the effect will be good. The reflection of ambient light causes visual impairment, which is a bit of a bit of ADS Pro. However, OLED is also strengthening the coating, which is also for the purpose of preventing reflection. Everyone's ideas are still very similar.
Of course, Mini LED's backlight module is very important, after all, this determines the image quality and brightness. There are 504 65-inch E8H backlit partitions, which is of course not as good as U8H, but it can still beat Huawei and TCL's mid-range Mini LED TVs. Moreover, the brightness of E8H is also very high, with a peak brightness of more than 1,600nits and a full-screen brightness of nearly 1,000nits. This can only be said to be very good, and it has hit TCL's Q10G. Basically, this system is the same as U8H, and the smoothness is similar, needless to say.
E8H also has Hisense's Xinxin core image quality chip. The light control part is done well, the black position is very outstanding, and the dark details are inferior to the VA screen in some extreme environments because of the low contrast. However, in bright pictures, the three-dimensionality and transparency are still excellent. The halo problem must be more obvious on the side, and the front cannot be seen. Considering its price, if compared with the Sony X90K of the same price, we may prefer E8H in the picture quality part.
Of course, this product is not without problems. We think that there are some colors overflowing in Dolby Vision's picture, which makes certain colors look a bit dazzling. There may be some problems with VRR mode connecting to PC, but the game console can normally turn on VRR and 4K/120Hz and turn on light control. The audio part has a bass unit, but Hisense obviously does not intend to do this part too strongly, so as not to steal the limelight from its own brand Toshiba. It is considered average. The same thing is true. If you don’t consider the problem of low native contrast from the ADS Pro panel, this product is worthy of users’ consideration.
Currently, Hisense E8H 65-inch price is 6999 yuan, which is 1,000 yuan more than TCL's Q10G. However, the specifications and image quality are partially sluggish, including the system functions, which are more perfect than TCL's Q10G. In addition to being slightly inferior in contrast, crushing Q10G in all aspects is not a problem. It should be an internet celebrity phone in the second half of the year. Moreover, compared with products of the same price of Samsung and Dafa, we still think that E8H has an advantage in overall picture quality. Although we don’t like BOE’s panels, even the ADS Pro is the same, to be fair, this Mini LED TV is indeed very cost-effective. A serious recommendation here.
Toshiba Z770: E8H's brother model? Audio is the highlight
Toshiba's so-called domestic flagship model Z770 this year. We have done tests before. If you want to see it in detail, you can go to our homepage to search. Simply put, this is definitely a modified version of Hisense E8H, although it is covered with Toshiba's brand. In the past, Toshiba's TV was basically based on the Japanese version of the TV and was modified and launched in China. However, the Z770 model was definitely not designed by Toshiba in Japan. Toshiba does not have this TV. In addition, its specifications and parameters are similar to E8H in all aspects, so we think this TV was designed by Hisense, using the E8H hardware and some materials and technologies of the Japanese version of Toshiba. In our opinion, this Toshiba Z770 is a bit awkward in terms of positioning, and of course it depends on who it compares with.
In the screen specifications, Toshiba Z770 and Hisense E8H are exactly the same, and even the backlight module is the same. It has 504 backlight partitions in 65-inches and uses BOE ADS Pro panel. We tested the contrast at around 1500:1, and turned on the maximum light control, and the static contrast ratio was less than 4000:1. For basic situations, you can refer to E8H, so we won’t talk about it here, just talk about some different places. The appearance and audio part of
are the same as the previous Toshiba Z740, with a 2.1.2 audio system, and the speakers are separately designed under the TV, so it looks a bit like a built-in echo wall. There is a subwoofer unit on the back and two sky speakers, which can be said to be the low-end audio system of the U8H. Of course, even so, the effect of this audio system is still very good. The volume of 15 can bring people a great sense of volume, which is stronger than Hisense E8H, and of course it is stronger than all Sony models.
Toshiba claims to be a dual-core driver Mini LED, and the dual-core refers to the ZR picture quality chip and BR audio chip. The ZR picture quality chip is the core used by Hisense E8H, so they basically present the same style on the picture, but there are some small differences. The brightness of the Z770 is not as bright as E8H. We tested that the peak brightness can reach 1200nits, and the full screen brightness is around 800nits. This data is actually very good, but it is quite different from Hisense's models. However, Toshiba has no obvious color overflow problem in Dolby Vision's picture, and the color accuracy is stronger than Hisense E8H. At the same time, the color temperature is very standard and not biased at all. The training in this aspect is indeed very good.
is an ADS Pro screen, so its advantages and disadvantages are exactly the same as other Hisense models. It has low reflectivity, good viewing angle, good light control effect, but low contrast, which makes the black position deep, but some dark details are worse than the VA panel. By adjusting the screen to improve dark details, the entire screen will turn gray and white again. The chip must be MT9652, so the HDMI interface and function are exactly the same as Hisense E8H, so there is no need to say more about this part. In addition, the system is the same as Hisense, and in the second half of this year, the machines of Hisense and Toshiba have separate game modes, which can adjust various game functions and view frame speeds. This part of the praise is good.
This 65-inch price is 8999 yuan. If compared with Hisense E8H, it seems that there is no advantage except audio, but considering the brand premium, it seems to be unacceptable. It depends on what the users think. After all, Toshiba's brand positioning is against Sony. Sony's X90K is definitely not comparable to this guy. There are some differences in sound quality and picture quality (the dark details may be stronger), and its specifications seem to be stronger than the X95EK, but the price is much cheaper. From this perspective, it makes sense for Toshiba to set this TV at this price. Although as we said, this is actually Hisense E8H that uses Toshiba's shell and some Toshiba technology...
Another thing is that domestic TVs support CEC function, but they cannot use the TV remote control board to control devices that access the HDMI interface. TCL is like this, and Hisense Toshiba is the same. Samsung, LG and Sony obviously need to do better in this part. For users who have multiple devices and multiple remote controls at home, the small problem of domestic TVs is really a bit tiring.
Xiaomi ES70 & Redmi X86: Cheap is the hard truth
Xiaomi This year, the TV part was a bit disappointing, and the release of high-end products was all stopped. It seems that some cost-effective machines that Xiaomi tried to take the high-end route were not so good, so Xiaomi continued to play with its own low-end products in the second half of the year. Its functions are not good and the picture quality is not good. Anyway, the large screen is cheap enough, which is enough to attract many users with limited budget but not high requirements for TV picture quality.
=It is conceivable that Xiaomi cannot sell in the high-end part. After all, its technical capabilities are too poor, and it is impossible to deal with any small problems with high-end models. The image quality of the OLED TVs it makes can reach an unimaginable lower limit. Some HDMI 2.1 interfaces that use MediaTek's high-end chips have not yet been fully completed. So for Xiaomi, it’s okay to make a high- profit product, and keeping your own domestic sales first is the best way to do some models.
Xiaomi's own brand's slightly popular product recently is ES70, 70-inch 60Hz, a low-end configuration, 3 HDMI 2.0 interfaces, peak brightness 700nits, and supports Dolby Vision. There is nothing to say about the picture quality of this product, it is not up to standard, but the contrast is extremely high. It is likely to use the VA panel of Huaxing Optoelectronics , with a direct backlight partition, and supports the MEMC function. Xiaomi calls this product a light flagship, so it is better to say it directly is low-end products. The advantage is that the price is cheap, the pre-sale price of 4,499 yuan, you can get it at 3,999 yuan, and the lowest price can be 3,699 yuan. There is a price of 70-inch with MEMC and Dolby Vision. What other bicycles do you want?
If you want a larger size, you can choose the Redmi X86 that has just been released, which is 86 inches as the name suggests. This guy has a certain degree of specifications. We really can't think of any advantages except big ones. To put it bluntly, it's just selling everyone a panel. Color accuracy, HDR, and image quality are all low-end, and there are only two HDMI interfaces. But the same thing is true, cheap is the king. The price of this product is 5,299 yuan, and you can buy it at 4,999 yuan. To put it bluntly, it is purely for users who want to buy large screens. Users who have a limited budget and want to buy large screens can consider it. Users who have a little bit of functions and picture quality requirements can directly ignore Xiaomi's recent TV products.
In fact, there is a trend in the entire TV industry at present, that is, everyone is moving towards the high end to obtain higher profits and revenues. Sony, Samsung and LG are particularly evident, so they are also the highest-paid TV manufacturers. TCL and Hisense currently have the same plan to launch more high-quality products. However, Xiaomi is indeed lacking in this part, mainly because it does not have any hardware and software technology, and can only rely on low-end volume. In the future, we are not optimistic about Xiaomi's development in the TV industry. Everyone will not play price wars and users are more interested in high-end products, so it will be difficult for Xiaomi.
was written at the end
Originally, Samsung launched 8K TVs QN800C and QN900C in China in the second half of the year also attracted the attention of some users. However, these two TVs are both high-end 8K series, 8K has no urgent needs, and the price is too high, so we have no interest in introducing it, and of course there is no hot topic. Skyworth just launched a cheap Mini LED TV A63 series, which is obviously also aimed at TCL's Q10G and Hisense's E8H. However, using BOE's ADS Pro panel, it is not as good as Hisense's E8H in all aspects. It is really not competitive, and we are not interested in recommending it, so we won't say much.
Overall, Hisense is making significant efforts in the domestic TV market in the second half of the year. Basically, the current popular models are all made by Hisense, including the Toshiba Z770. TCL was indeed the leader in the first half of the year, and Hisense's fierce kills on the eve of the World Cup did have a deep impact on us. And to be fair, Hisense is currently the only one that can compare with overseas brands in terms of picture quality technology, and it is also the only domestic TV with its own picture quality chip. It just likes to purchase BOE's ADS Pro panels. If VA panels can be used, then on Mini LED TVs, Hisense's high-end products directly challenge Sony, Samsung, and LG.
If you want to buy a product with excellent picture quality in the near future, then Hisense's U8H can be recommended to people with sufficient budget, while Hisense's E8H is a more cost-effective choice. If you want to buy a cheap large-screen TV, then there is nothing to say. Xiaomi Home welcomes you. After all, cheap is the biggest and even the only selling point of Xiaomi TV !
