Although

has not been officially announced, the Zen 4 generation, AMD also prepares the thread tear processor.

A few days ago, the Ryzen 7000 thread tearer code-named Storm Peak appeared in the database of the distributed computing platform Einstein @Home.

This time it unveiled a 64-core product, with OPN code 100-00000454-20_Y, which belongs to Family 25 Model 24 Stepping 1, which means that it is confirmed to use the Zen4 architecture.

Since Zen 4 EPYC, that is, Genoa/Bergamo, is at most 96 cores, in theory, Zen 4 thread tearers still have the possibility of evolution. However, there are actually four products in the Zen 4 EPYC generation, two sets of interface slots, namely SP5/TR5 and SP6. The latter is used for EPYC Siena processors. Siena is different from Genoa. Its main purpose is to reduce the total cost of ownership of customers, in other words, it is cost-effective.

However, considering that the Ryzen 7000 desktop processor has just been released and EPYC has not yet appeared (it is said to be before the end of the year), the thread tearer will definitely be postponed indefinitely.
