JPR today announced a statistical report on the global independent graphics card market for the second quarter of 2022. Shipments in the quarter were approximately 10.4 million units. Although it increased slightly by 2.4% year-on-year, it plummeted by 22.6% compared with about 13.38 million units in the first quarter. Far lower than the average decline of 9.7% in the past ten years, the decline is fully evident.
The total value of the independent graphics card market in the current quarter was US$5.5 billion, which was US$3.1 billion less than the previous first quarter, or a full 36% drop. The main reason was that the average price continued to decline. In terms of
market share, NVIDIA currently accounts for 79%, losing 1 percentage point year-on-year. However, fortunately, it increased by 4 percentage points month-on-month and maintained its market position.
AMD was the same 20% as a year ago, but lost 4 percentage points from the first quarter.
Intel has already obtained 1% of the market. It can basically be said that it was snatched from NVIDIA. It has opened up the situation, but there is still a long way to go.
