The Apple iPhone 14 series has just been launched, and there are already quite a lot of rumors about the iPhone 15 series next year, and the flagship model is expected to be significantly upgraded this year.
Bloomberg reporters previously revealed: Apple may replace Pro Max with Ultra next year. Compared with the previous gap between Pro and Pro Max, the advantage gap between iPhone 15 Ultra is more obvious than iPhone 15 Pro. The flagship iPhone 15 Ultra will have many major changes: including USB-C interface, periscope lens, front dual camera, and the body will also be changed to titanium to reduce weight. The front dual camera is designed for Apple AR glasses.
First of all, in terms of interfaces, the EU's mandatory bill requires that smartphones and other electronic devices have a unified USB-C interface. It is expected that the iPhone 15 series will use USB-C interface for the first time. Apple's main products iPad, MacBook and iPhone are finally expected to use a unified interface.
iPhone 15 Ultra is expected to be replaced with the new A17 Bionic chip. It is rumored to adopt TSMC's 3nm process for the first time, and performance will inevitably make a big leap forward. Continuing the configuration of the iPhone 14 series, the basic iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may still use the previous generation A16 Bionic chip. In terms of
camera, following the iPhone 14 Pro series using 48-megapixel main camera, iPhone 15 Ultra may import periscope lenses. As early as a few months ago, the famous analyst , Kuo Mingchi predicted that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will use a periscope telephoto lens . The detailed lens parameters are: 12 million pixels, 1/3-inch large sole, f/2.8 aperture, 5-6 times optical zoom , and support sensor displacement anti-shake. As a comparison, the telephoto lens on the iPhone 14 Pro only supports 3x optical zoom, while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra supports 10x optical zoom.
Market research agency TrendForce's latest statement pointed out that the iPhone 15 series will still maintain four models, and the Pro series has a great opportunity to upgrade to 8GB of memory and match it with the new A17 processor. The Pro series mentioned here includes Pro Max or the renamed Ultra. This year, the iPhone 14 series is fully equipped with 6GB of memory. It was originally rumored that the Pro series is expected to use 8GB of memory, but it did not appear in the end and may come true next year.
TrendForce also said that demand for the iPhone 14 Pro series exceeded Apple's expectations, and the total production of the entire series will rise from 50% of the initial plan to 60%, and it will not be ruled out to grow to 65% in the future. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus may have reduced production due to the processor not being upgraded and the hole-punch screen has not been updated, so sales are not as good as expected.
