The administrator account you just set up can use it for administrators, and then continue to add new employee accounts again. The administrator account can control almost all permissions of employee accounts.

It is also very convenient to add an account. You only need to open the user and group in the control panel, add - create a user, and create an account according to the creation wizard.

When creating other user accounts, especially when setting passwords, Synology will not remind you of the complexity of the password you need to set, and will only require modifications if it does not meet the requirements. It would be much better if you can add relevant prompts when setting your password.

When entering Synology with an employee account, it is obvious that the content allowed to be accessed is only the part that is allowed when creating an account. I think this function is still very good, avoiding employees from being exposed to core confidential files and privately tampering with the system functions during the use of the enterprise.

Log in to SMB using the administrator account and log in to SMB using the employee account. The content that can be accessed is determined by the shared folder set earlier that allows the account to access.

Here Synology is very considerate. The .exe file is directly downloaded on Windows, and the .dmg format file is downloaded on Mac. After the download is completed, install and use it directly.

Then set the folder that needs to be synchronized from Nas to the current computer and the location of the folder on the current computer.

Click on the advanced settings in the lower left corner, and you can check the folders that need to be synchronized under the current folder. If you don’t need to synchronize, you don’t need to synchronize.

In the Synology Drive folder, you can see intuitively whether the file has been synchronized to Synology (a cloud appears means that it has been synchronized to Synology).

Click the Drive icon in the computer's taskbar to see the current synchronization situation.

In addition, some friends will say, how should I do if I have multiple folders that need to be synchronized?

Although multiple folders cannot be selected at once in the synchronization task, you can click the Drive icon in the Windows tray, click Create directly in the upper left corner, and create the synchronization task multiple times.

In addition, the Drive suite also contains a backup function, and the backup here is just the contents inside the backup folder. The operation is also very simple, just create a backup task at the backup task.

Complete the relevant configuration according to the relevant prompts. In the backup mode, I personally recommend choosing continuous backup. In this way, when the target folder changes, you can quickly synchronize to Synology.

After testing, synchronization under the same LAN is still very fast, but the synchronization under the external network is much slower. In an external network environment, it is recommended to synchronize as needed, only small files or files that are in a hurry.

In addition to the above functions, Synology's Drive also integrates the previous functions of office. Of course, the first time you use it, you need to install Synology office in the suite center, and then you can create new documents, spreadsheets, and slides in Drive.

It is also a streamlined version of office, and it is still enough to use it in emergency faces.

Synology internal settings also provide you with some templates, of course these templates are all free.

In addition to the use of PC and web pages, on the mobile device, the supporting Drive mobile program can also synchronize pictures to the Synology server, and the relevant folders specified on the mobile device. On Android/Hongmeng devices, you can also back up WeChat files, photos and other data (non-chat data). Now the boss no longer has to worry that my mobile phone will be broken and the WeChat files will be gone.

Tips:

On the computer, set the WeChat data folder to the shared folder of Drive, and turn on the backup chat records on the mobile phone every day to the computer. If the WeChat data is lost, you can directly restore the backup data on the Nas to the mobile phone, which is very convenient.

In addition, Drive also supports sharing internal files with others. There are two forms of sharing, one is a private link and the other is a public link.

In the private link, respondents must log in to their Synology account. If they do not have Synology account, they will not have relevant permissions to view.

In addition, in the sharing interface, you can also set only the account that belongs to this station's nas can be accessed, and the relevant permissions can be set.

Another public link is that you do not need an account to access it.

Of course, related permissions such as passwords, password validity periods, etc. can be set. If you don’t want to share, you can also directly turn off the sharing permissions. This is very good for friends who need to share files with others' needs.

In addition, Synology can also set up computer backups, but it is only for the current PC folder backup, and cannot create media to restore the entire machine. Not very friendly to some applications.

However, Drive can synchronize the content that needs to be synchronized to Synology's server in an external network environment. This is still very practical. Of course, if there is a large amount of file requirements, it is recommended to synchronize under the same LAN.

But after all, Drive is just a suite for backup of related folders. When facing the entire machine backup, it still seems a little overwhelmed.

So what should I do if I do a backup of the entire computer? You can't synchronize every folder to Synology!

The biggest difference between ABB and Drive above can be said to be that ABB focuses on the data on the entire PC. As long as the data is backed up to the Nas, as long as the Nas is not damaged, you will not worry about the loss of data no matter how many times the computer is reinstalled.

Of course, it can also be set up multiple versions, and you can customize the hard disk that needs to be backed up. However, I think the most powerful part is the senseless full disk backup, and it is simple and easy to use!

First, you need to download and install the ABB kit in the suite center. After opening

, you can see the ABB interface, and the interface is also quite simple. In the overview, you can see the types and number of devices currently backed up.

You can see that in addition to Windows computers, you can also back up physical servers, file servers, virtual machines and other Synology Nas devices.

Click to add the device in the computer interface and download the installer that matches your computer system according to the relevant prompts.

Install ABB software on a Windows computer and log in. (It should be noted that if you fill in the IP address of Synology here, do not fill in the QuickConnect link address), then enter the relevant account password.

At this time, you can return to Synology's ABB application and you can see the computer device currently connected to Synology on the computer page.

Select Create in the task list.

Select the computer to operate and create a backup task according to the creation wizard. Here, you can select the computer volume that needs to be synchronized according to your relevant needs. My choice here is to back up the entire device.

My favorite thing about Synology’s ABB is the senseless backup. When creating it, you can choose to plan backup and choose your own backup time. If I do, I basically start backing up every morning. After all, I can’t use a computer at that time, right? If you have the version of

If it is the first backup, the backup will not start immediately after the creation of this task. Click Backup on the ABB interface to start the backup immediately.

The backup speed is also very fast, basically reaching gigabit speed, and the backup speed is also very fast. When you wake up in the morning, you basically have completed the backup.

However, one thing to note here is that for ABB backup, you require the backup computer's hard disk format to be NTFS. If it is exFAT, it is impossible to backup.

Of course, for the backup of the entire computer, the amount of data is relatively large. Synology ABB performs incremental backup of every time, which only backs up the newly added data in the device. Therefore, the data will be larger only when the first backup is backed up. In addition, ABB can also enable data compression when creating tasks. The current data compression rate can be seen in the storage status of ABB's background management interface, which can still save a lot of hard disk space.

Right, when downloading the ABB application, you will also download an application called Active Backup for Business Portal.

Open this application and you can see the folder of all the data of the currently backed up device, and it is also presented in the form of a timeline. This can easily find the old files from the past. This can still solve many problems in daily work.

Open the Snapshot Replication suite, click Snapshot, select the file to take the snapshot, and you can create a new snapshot directly.

You can see that the snapshots are taken very fast, and 100+GB of data can be instantly taken.

Just click on the snapshot that needs to be restored when you need to use it.

In addition, you can also set the relevant snapshot automatic shooting plan according to your backup habits. Of course, in order to reduce redundant data, the number of snapshots historical numbers can also be set according to your own habits. I believe many friends who have used Sync

Due to the limitations of the macos system, we can only use the backup function time machine that comes with macos to backup the entire disk.

First, you need to enable the Bonjour Time Machine broadcast function through SMB in the advanced settings in the file service in the control panel.

Create a new backup folder of the time machine in the shared folder.
