The design style of MSI Jueying GS66 is similar to that of Jueying 15M, but the silky black metal body looks more high-end, and the thickness and weight are increased to 19.8mm and 2.1kg respectively, which sacrifices portability, and is exchanged for a more powerful configuration.
MSI Jueying GS66 still does not have a digital keyboard, but the Steelero single-key colorful backlit keyboard feels first-class, and it also has holes on both sides of the palm rest on the C side. It contains the speakers created by MSI and Dynaudio, which is making sounds to users. The official says its crisp treble, thick bass, and clean and clear sound quality, and you can enjoy an immersive audio experience while playing games and listening to music.
MSI Jueying GS66's screen is still 16:9 display ratio, but the resolution has been increased from 1080P of Jueying 15M to 2560×1440 pixels, supporting 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut and 240Hz high refresh rate, and the display effect has been significantly improved. A 720P camera is embedded in the bezel of the screen, which also supports MSI face capture and face swapping software.
In terms of configuration, MSI Jueying GS66 currently provides 2 official configurations:
low-end version is i7-12700H processor, 32GB DDR5 memory, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, RTX 3070 Ti independent graphics (16999 yuan);
high-end version is i9-12900H processor, 64GB DDR5 memory, 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, RTX 3080 Ti independent graphics card (25,999 yuan), has reached the ceiling level in the current gaming laptops, and is also the only model in Jueying 2022 that supports dual graphics and three-modes.
It should be noted that as a thin gaming laptop, the performance release of MSI Jueying GS66 is obviously impossible to reach the level of its own charge tank, attack and Titan . Its CPU single-baking power consumption is about 85W, not low, but the GPU power consumption release is only 105W, which is the standard of Max-Q. Therefore, MSI Jueying GS66 is more inclined to [all-purpose book], which is a productivity workstation that is convenient for mobile and maintains relatively powerful gaming power.
MSI Jueying GS66 uses Cooler Boost Trinity+ cooling module, consisting of 3 fans and 7 heat pipes. It uses thin fan blades as thin as 0.1mm and a significantly increased number of fan blades to bring a more stable and efficient gaming experience. In general, MSI Jueying GS66 is a qualified thin and light gaming laptop. Even if the power consumption of the independent graphics card is only 105W, it can ensure a smooth gaming experience at 2.5K resolution, but the frame rate and theoretical running score are not as extreme as thicker gaming laptops. But there are many problems with this product. First of all, the screen lacks professional-level school colors (at least not mentioned by the official), and the screen ratio is not 16:10, which will lose some potential content creator customers. In addition, the price threshold starting at 16,999 yuan is relatively high. Whether it is worth choosing depends on whether you are obsessed with the WeChat brand.
