In September 2022, the official announcement of International Organization for Standardization showed that after 18 countries voted, two compressor international standards proposed by Gree Electric - "ISO/NP 18501 Volume Refrigeration Compressor Performance Evaluation" and "ISO/NP 18483 Centrifugal Refrigeration Compressor Performance Evaluation" were approved with high votes. It is reported that this project approval is the first successful international standard for my country to establish a project in the field of refrigeration compressors and , and is a historic breakthrough in China's refrigeration compressor industry in international standardization.

It is understood that ISO/TC 86/SC4 is the Experiment and Evaluation Sub-Committee of Refrigeration Compressors of the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization (hereinafter referred to as "ISO Refrigeration Compressor Sub-Committee") and is the most authoritative international organization for formulating international standards for refrigeration compressors. The Secretariat is currently in China, and Gree Electric Appliances Chairman and President Dong Mingzhu serves as chairman. The two refrigeration compressor standards were successfully approved, and they received extensive participation from more than 10 countries including Germany, the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, and Japan. This not only demonstrates China's technical strength in the field of refrigeration compressors, but also adds voice to China's wisdom on the world stage.
It is understood that the two standards will provide scientific and reasonable solutions for the energy efficiency evaluation of volumetric refrigeration compressors and centrifugal refrigeration compressors. It is conducive to promoting the transformation of refrigeration compressors in the global industry to green and low-carbon, improving the energy utilization efficiency of refrigeration industry, building a green and low-carbon industrial chain, and promoting the refrigeration industry to achieve the dual-carbon goal.
The international compressor standard was successfully established, relying on the rapid rise of China's manufacturing industry and the unremitting efforts of Gree to persist in independent innovation and take root in the real industry. Up to now, Gree Electric has applied for more than 100,000 domestic and foreign patents, and the patent authorization volume exceeds 57,000. Since 2016, Gree Electric Appliances’ invention patent authorization has been ranked among the top ten in the country for six consecutive years, ranking seventh in the country in 2021, and is also the only company in the home appliance industry to enter the top ten.
Gree Electric adheres to the development concept of independent innovation and has been deeply engaged in the core technology of compressors for many years. It currently has 35 international leading technologies including three-cylinder dual-stage variable volume ratio compressor, high-efficiency magnetoresistive variable frequency scroll compressor, high-efficiency permanent magnet synchronous variable frequency centrifugal compressor, magnetic levitation centrifugal compressor, gas suspension centrifugal compressor, etc. The compressor covers piston , rotor, scroll, screw, centrifugal compressor, and , with a complete range of categories, which can fully meet the needs of refrigeration equipment.
The two international standard proposals in this time are based on summarizing the successful experience and practices of my country's refrigeration compressors, actively promoting China's good practices to the international scope and building a global unified refrigeration compressor standard system. In the next step, Gree Electric will actively coordinate forces with all parties, widely build consensus, promote the coordinated development of domestic and international standardization, and contribute to the standardization construction of the international refrigeration compressor field.
