On Tuesday local time, Facebook parent company Meta announced its latest high-end VR headset Meta Quest Pro at its annual VR conference "Connect 2022", priced at US$1,499.99 (approximately RMB 10,755), and shipments will begin on October 25.
It is understood that Meta Quest Pro still belongs to the Quest VR series, but its positioning is more high-end than Meta Quest 2. In terms of appearance, Meta Quest Pro has redesigned the body and controller, built-in camera for eye and face tracking, and color video push for mixed reality applications.
Compared with Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro uses a more advanced Pancake lens, and the optical stack is reduced by more than 40%; VR LCD display technology increases pixel density by 37%, the color gamut is 1.3 times that of Meta Quest 2, the device's pupil spacing adjustment range is 55-75mm, and the refresh rate is 90Hz.
Other configurations, Meta Quest Pro is equipped with an XR2 Plus processor jointly developed with Qualcomm , with a 12GB+256GB memory combination, and the product comes with 10 advanced VR/MR sensors. The two-piece Meta Quest Touch Pro controllers equipped with have been redesigned, each equipped with a Snapdragon 662 processor and three cameras, which allows users to feel the full range of motion in the virtual world and precise tactile feedback, making the VR experience more intuitive. In terms of battery life, Meta Quest Pro has a battery life of 1-2 hours, which is a decrease compared to Meta Quest 2. On the weight of , the Meta Quest Pro adds 720g, but the Meta moves the battery to the back of the headset, making the weight distribution more even.
In addition, Meta will cooperate with Microsoft , and people can access some Microsoft applications through Quest devices, such as Teams chat application Teams, Microsoft 365 office software suite, and Xbox cloud gaming service.
