At the 2022 Meta Connect conference, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the company's latest virtual reality headset, but after years of hard work to reduce the cost of entering the VR world, the newly announced Quest Pro seems to be aimed at pushing the technical boundaries. The new device has the same name as the previous product line Quest, but has nothing in common with the mass-market headsets under $400. Meta raises the Quest Pro to $1,500 and regards it as a productivity device. The main function of

Quest Pro is full color perspective, which uses four cameras outside the device to capture and display the space outside the headset to users wearing the device, thus bringing the " mixed reality " experience, superimposing digital content into the user's real-world environment.
These use cases are facilitated by many important hardware changes. The new "pizza" lens means a huge reduction in size, with the display stack being 40% thinner compared to the Quest 2. The headset uses Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ chipset and 1800 × 1920 mini LED display per eye, paired with 12GB of onboard memory and 256GB of storage. Quest Pro also integrates the eye tracking function.

The headset also has a redesigned controller, no longer providing a tracking ring, instead it is an onboard camera that can track the relative position of the controller and the headset.
battery life is the biggest problem. Meta says that the headset can only last for 1-2 hours of continuous use, which may be difficult for productive products that are positioned in the "professional" field.

The device is now accepting pre-orders and will be shipped on October 25th.
