According to Taiwan media reports, Taiwan's "Ministry of Health and Welfare Disease Control and Administration" announced the fourth case of monkeypox being moved abroad. It is a Taiwanese man in his 40s in the south, with a history of travel between Canada and the United States. He received a dose of monkeypox vaccine in Canada on October 5, returned to Taiwan on the 8th, and was diagnosed today.

Taiwan's " Defendant Deputy Director" Zhuang Renxiang said that the man went to Canada in mid-September this year and then went to the United States, but returned to Canada on September 23. He developed rashes on the 28th, and had symptoms such as low fever and chills on the 30th. He went to a local hospital for medical treatment on October 5th. After the doctor's diagnosis and examination, he received a dose of monkeypox vaccine, but the examination took time. Before the results were released, he boarded the plane on the 7th and arrived in Taiwan on the 8th.

Zhuang Renxiang pointed out that the man said he had the above symptoms when he entered the country, and was sent to the hospital by the airport quarantine personnel. After evaluation by the doctor, the examination was reported and confirmed positive today. He is currently in isolation and treatment in the hospital. After the epidemic, 8 low-risk contacts such as medical staff, quarantine and epidemic prevention personnel have been listed, and have been undergoing medical education and self-health monitoring for 21 days.

Zhuang Renxiang explained that although the man had received monkeypox vaccine in Canada, he was already infected and became ill at that time and therefore failed to work.

Monkeypox was announced as a second type of statutory infectious disease in Taiwan on June 23 this year. As of today, a total of 36 suspected cases have been reported and 4 confirmed cases have been reported, all of which have been moved abroad, and the remaining 32 cases have been excluded. Zhuang Renxiang added that three cases were previously confirmed and all have been discharged from the hospital.

Taiwan's "Disease Administration" pointed out that since the outbreak of this monkeypox epidemic in the UK in mid-May, the world has accumulated more than 70,000 confirmed cases, including 44,130 in the Americas and 24,877 in Europe. The top 5 cases are 26,049 in the United States, 48,270 in Brazil, 7,209 in Spain, 4,043 in France and 3,654 in the United Kingdom. Nearby countries such as Australia, Singapore, , Japan, South Korea, etc. have also reported cases.
