Six three: Bao, shame.
The simple two words, without the sign of zhenzai, indicate that this line of speech may be a language of aphorisms and proverbs to a large extent, and it must be aimed at the main theme of the hexagram-no. "Bao, shame", in which "bao" should mean excessive tolerance, that is, excessive tolerance of the "no" situation, more accurately it is the indifference of good and evil, what will the final result be? ? It will only be a result-"shame". Many people always think that indulgence will be exchanged for the gratitude of the other party. Who knows that excessive tolerance or indulgence often results in humiliation of themselves. The most typical example is those patients with giant baby syndrome , which is the result of no bottom-line indulgence, and what kind of return do those who indulge in it? I'm afraid none of them feel good.
For anyone, it is a rare good quality to be kind when solving the problem of occlusion and obstruction, but there is a problem that there is too little in everything. Faithful advice is conducive to deeds. Anyone should listen carefully to the suggestions and opinions with good intentions. Even if there is a certain deviation from the actual situation, they should also face it with an attitude of "if there is a change, if there is no encouragement". But for those malicious attacks with bad intentions, letting them go will only make them more rampant.
For some time, when someone criticized Confucius , they would say that Confucius was pedantic and that Confucius always advocated "repaying grievances with virtue", which is a typical hypocrite. In fact, this is a complete misunderstanding of Confucius. There is a record in the "Analects of Confucius. Constitutional Questions". Someone asked Confucius, "How about repaying grievances with virtue?" Confucius' answer was not in agreement, but instead asked "How to repay virtue?", and Confucius went on to say Coming out of my own point of view-"repaying grievances directly, and repaying virtues by virtue", I feel that it is a bit to implement the original line of words "to be ashamed and shame". As for "repaying grievances by virtue", it comes from Lao Tzu 's "Tao De Jing". The reason why Lao Tzu proposed to repay grievances by virtue also has its specific conditions. It is the attitude of the ancient kings to the common people. These are two completely different scenarios.
