GM is accelerating the launch of more electric vehicles based on the Auteng platform in the Chinese market, and vigorously deploying the "software-defined car" platform to meet consumers' needs for smart travel. The reporter learned from the "2022 General Motors Technology Outlook Day" recently that General Motors will launch more than 15 electric models based on the UltraNet platform in the Chinese market by the end of 2025, and will launch a new software platform next year to comprehensively accelerate the promotion of electrification and intelligent networking.
was on the spot, four pure electric models created based on the UltraNeng platform were unveiled on the same stage, including the GMC pure electric Hummer Super Pickup, Cadillac LYRIQ Ruige, Buick Electra-X pure electric concept SUV, and the world's first Chevrolet pure electric concept car FNR-XE.
SAIC General Manager Wang Yongqing said: "SAIC General Motors is constantly increasing its strategic investment. Based on the announcement of a RMB 50 billion investment plan last year, it will add 20 billion. It plans to invest 70 billion in the new technologies of electrification and intelligent networking by 2025."
UltraNet platform achieves more than 595% parts localized procurement
UltraNet electric vehicle platform is the cornerstone of General Motors' comprehensive electrification transformation. SAIC General Motors and Pan Asia Automobile Technology Center participated in the simultaneous development of this platform and related models throughout the process, and jointly developed exclusive battery cell formulas for the Chinese market with local suppliers, with the advantages of high heat stability, low attenuation and long life.
In terms of the construction of the new energy system, after the launch of Shanghai Aoteng Super Factory, the Pan-Asian New Energy Test Building and the Guangde Battery Safety Laboratory last year, the Wuhan Aoteng Super Factory will also be put into production before the end of the year. At the same time, SAIC-GM has also achieved localized procurement of more than 95% of the parts of the Aoteng Platform, which marks that SAIC-GM has the full-link complete system capability from R&D, design, engineering, manufacturing to supply chain.

At present, the luxury pure electric medium and large SUV equipped with the Ultra-Entereng platform has been delivered, and the four-wheel drive performance version will be delivered in late December; the first large five-seat pure electric SUV of the Ultra-Entereng platform will be unveiled at the end of the year and will be delivered in the first half of next year; the first mass-produced model of the Chevrolet Ultra-Entereng platform will be launched before the end of next year. Cadillac and Buick's second UltraNet model will also be launched next year. In 2023, SAIC and GM will have 4 new UltraNet platform models to meet consumers. In the next five years, the three major brands have accumulated more than 10 pure electric products. In the next two years, SAIC and GM will also launch a new generation of oil-electric strong hybrid technology and plug-in hybrid technology to further enrich the green and energy-saving product spectrum.

"software-defined car", bringing technical solutions that fit Chinese road conditions
SAIC-GM is constantly enhancing the local system capabilities of intelligent networking. The Pan Asia Automotive Technology Center has nearly 1,300 software and digital talents, more than 10 development laboratories, nearly 1,000 test and verification benches, 4 joint laboratories and 6 innovation studios. This year, the Intelligent Systems and Software Engineering Center of Pan Asia Automobile Technology Center was established. It will focus on five core areas: intelligent driving, smart cockpit, software-defined cars, electronic architecture and intelligent vehicle control, ensuring the implementation and iterative update of General Motors' latest intelligent networking technology, and bring consumers technical solutions that fit Chinese road conditions and travel scenarios.
SAIC-GM is accelerating the development and application of "software-defined cars". The electric vehicles on the Auteng platform will adopt 100% of the VIP intelligent electronic architecture, realizing parallel refresh of OTAs of multiple modules of the vehicle, making the upgrade content richer and faster upgrade speed.

In the field of intelligent driving, SAIC and GM will launch the new generation Super Cruise super assisted driving system. It will be equipped on Cadillac Ruige for the first time through OTA remote upgrade before the Spring Festival in 2023, and will be gradually applied to future models of Buick and Chevrolet.
's new generation Super Cruise has made 9 major adjustments and optimizations for Chinese road scenarios and consumer driving habits based on North America. Its automatic lane change and command lane change functions bring an assisted driving experience close to the real-person driving style; high-precision maps provide 4 data updates a year, and the domestic map coverage mileage has increased by 50,000 kilometers compared with last year, reaching 350,000 kilometers. In the future, Super Cruise will also regularly iterate and upgrade through OTA to provide customers with richer usage scenarios. In terms of
smart cockpit, the new generation of VCS smart cockpit system jointly developed by General Motors and Pan Asia Automobile Technology Center has been equipped with two models, Cadillac LYRIQ Ruige and Buick Century.
