On December 20, the second phase of the GAC Toyota new energy vehicle capacity expansion project was officially put into operation. This marks that GAC Toyota has officially achieved a production capacity of one million units and achieved a milestone of great significance. It will accelerate the implementation of the all-round electrification strategy and promote the high-quality development of and .

The project covers an area of 740,000 square meters and has a production capacity of 200,000 units/year. The commissioning of this new production line will help GAC Toyota achieve a million-dollar production capacity, becoming the most concentrated and large-scale production base in the world, laying a solid foundation for building a sustainable million-dollar system.
It is understood that during the construction process of the new factory, the goal is to build a factory with low environmental burden and realize the concepts of integrated development and social resource sharing. Toyota's original coating electrostatic adsorption process was introduced in the coating workshop, and the coating efficiency reached 90%, ranking at the top level in the industry. By introducing a solar power generation system and purchasing green electricity, it became GAC Toyota's first power carbon-neutral factory.

In addition, GAC Toyota has connected multiple platforms in series to digitize the entire logistics process "from suppliers to factories", creating and optimizing smart logistics inside and outside the factory: In the factory, through automatic guided transport vehicles (AGV) and other means, the automation rate has been greatly improved. At present, the logistics areas of the welding workshop, battery workshop, and assembly workshop of the new factory have all achieved 100% unmanned logistics. Outside the factory, the industry's first "real-time supply monitoring + intelligent error correction system" provides guarantee for high-quality production and operation. With the help of common equipment, it covers the flexible production of "all engines and full power" multiple models, and flexibly adjusts production capacity to respond to market changes.

This year, in the second phase of the new energy vehicle production capacity expansion project, GAC Toyota’s first e-TNGA pure electric medium-sized SUV bZ4X rolled off the production line. Next, GAC Toyota will comprehensively expand its pure electric product lineup and accelerate the ecological layout of the new energy industry. It plans to account for nearly 60% of sales of electrified models by 2025 and 100% by 2035.
GAC Toyota stated that it will accelerate the formation of Nansha 's first 100 billion-level automobile industry cluster composed of more than 40 upstream and downstream suppliers, build a more complete automobile industry chain, and add a new engine to the development of Nansha's strategic emerging industries.
