Recently, Bentley Auto posted a tweet introducing its "Flying B" front decorative badge manufacturing process. Bentley mentioned that 97% of Flying Spur owners have the "Flying B" front badge.

Bentley said the badge used now is the sixth-generation version, first introduced in 2019 on the new generation of Flying Spur, designed by Hoe Young Hwang.


Bentley mentioned that the new "Flying B" badge has several first features, the first one adopts an electronic folding opening function, the first one adopts a cover plate, and the first one adopts a transparent luminous acrylic flying wing shape. In terms of process, the Bentley "Flying B" badge uses lost wax casting technology instead of sand casting, which can create "complicated shapes of components that provide stricter tolerances, thinner walls, and better surface finish than sand casting ". The body of the "Flying B" badge is made of 316 stainless steel, and molybdenum is added to improve corrosion resistance.


When the casting process is completed and hand polished by the craftsman, the prototype will be sent to WCM Europe Ltd for assembly, where transparent acrylic wings, wires and LED light sources will be installed.

Bentley mentioned that the entire production process takes 11 weeks from the beginning to the end.
