Polestar 3 is a powerful electric SUV that appeals to the user's senses with its unique Scandinavian design and excellent driving power. This EV is the latest model of the Polestar brand, rooted in Swedish and developed in China, with considerable long-range battery life and plenty of power, and claims that the new electric vehicle "is worth looking forward to for all legitimate reasons" is made of sustainable materials.

Polestar 3 is not only the brand's first SUV, but also the first model to be designed as an Polestar sedan from the very beginning. Taking the Gran Turismo coupe Polestar 1 as an example, the blood relationship with the Volvo model at that time is clear; the Polestar 2 sedan was also designed as a Volvo model after the S40 in its early concept stage, and later became Polestar's first pure electric model.

Polestar 3 The materials used in the interior have been selected for their sustainability certification while enhancing advanced aesthetics and luxurious touch. These include bio-properties MicroTech, animal welfare certified leather and a fully traceable wool interior. In line with Polestar’s commitment to its manufacturing, emissions and materials affect transparency, Polestar 3 will complete a full life cycle assessment at the start of production (LCA). Subsequent evaluations will run through its entire lifecycle , and work will continue to find ways to reduce its carbon footprint.

Polestar 3 is the first car launched by Polestar to use the NVIDIA DRIVE chipset for centralized computing, running Volvo Cars' software. As the artificial intelligence brain, NVIDIA's high-performance automotive platform processes data from multiple sensors and cameras of the car to enable advanced driver assistance safety features and driver monitoring.
This infotainment system is powered by Qualcomm Qualcomm 's next-generation Snapdragon Cockpit platform. As the core component of the Snapdragon digital chassis, a comprehensive open and scalable cloud-connected automotive platform, the Snapdragon Cockpit platform will be used to provide an immersive in-car experience with its high-performance features, offering high-definition displays, premium surround sound and seamless connectivity throughout the vehicle. As standard configuration, the Polestar 3 has five radar modules, five external cameras and twelve external ultrasonic sensors to support numerous advanced security features. SmartZone under the front wing collects several forward sensors, a heated radar module and cameras, now a hallmark of the Polestar design. Internally, two closed-loop driver surveillance cameras have introduced leading eye tracking technology from Smart Eye to Polestar, designed to enable safer driving. The camera monitors the driver's eyes and triggers warning messages, sounds and even emergency stops when distracted, sleepy, or disconnected drivers are detected.
Android Automotive OS is an in-car operating system developed with Google, with a front 14.5-inch central display. It is the first evolution of technology introduced in Polestar 2—the world’s first car with Google built in—and the feature and design revolution in the large SUV segment. Includes wireless (OTA) updates to allow continuous software improvements and introduction of new features without going to point of service upgrades.
As Volvo Cars opens a new era of security, Polestar 3 takes Volvo Cars' next generation of advanced active and passive security technologies as part of its DNA. This includes the latest innovation – an internal radar sensor that detects sub-millimeter-level motion inside a car to help prevent accidental leaving children or pets in the car. The system is also connected to a climate control system to avoid heat stroke or hypothermia. Further collaboration with industry-leading security technology partners such as Zenseact, Luminar and Smart Eye provides Polestar 3 with cutting-edge ADAS ( Advanced Driver Assistance System ) technology that enables seamless integration through centralized computing capabilities.

In the upcoming dual-motor model, the output power of the standard interior is 360 kW, and the maximum torque of is 840 Nm.Select the Performance Package, and the output power reaches 380 kW and 910 Nm. It is not a dual motor drive with two motors on the rear axle of , but an electric all-wheel drive with one motor per shaft. Nevertheless, the system allows torque vector distribution on the rear axle, with Polestar indicating that there is a “rear-directional deviation”. To achieve this effect, they further developed the dual clutch function of Polestar 1 for electric torque vectoring. This allows for targeted power and complete separation of the outer and inner wheels. The mechanical separation PSM on the rear axle thus operates without resistance, with the nominal capacity of
battery of 111 kWh; Polestar does not mention the available net energy data. According to WLTP, a distance of up to 610 kilometers is a tentative value. The company will release final energy consumption and range data in 2023. Since the car's official name is the Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor, it's also possible that the standard range model with a smaller battery will be launched just like the Polestar 2. However, there is no information on this aspect yet—even in theoretically possible single-motor models.

All versions include air suspension, full-length panoramic glass roof, full LED lighting inside and outside, retractable door handles with proximity sensing and 21-inch alloy wheels. The Plus Pack and Pilot Pack are standard on the first models, including a range of premium, luxury and convenience features such as Bowers Wilkins’ 25-speaker sound system with 3D surround and Dolby Atmos, soft-closed doors, head-up display and Pilot Assist. The optional Pilot Pack with LiDAR from
Luminar will be ordered in the second quarter of 2023 and will add an additional control unit from NVIDIA, three cameras, four ultrasonic sensors, and cleaning for front and rear view cameras, providing accurate real-time data about the car’s surroundings, especially in the remote sector. This can enhance 3D scanning of the car’s surroundings in more detail and help prepare the car for autonomous driving. The optional Performance Pack of
further enhances driving power, including maximum power and torque outputs (380 kW, 517hp and 910 Nm), as well as performance optimizations for the air suspension, unique 22-inch forged alloy wheels and additional iconic “Swedish Gold” details.

Polestar 3 is the first car based on the new all-electric technology developed and shared by Volvo Cars. Volvo Cars’ factory in Chengdu, China plans to gradually increase production in the initial market starting in mid-2023, with first delivery in the fourth quarter of 2023. Volvo Cars’ factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina, U.S. is expected to conduct more production by mid-2024, when supply plans in North America and other markets will shift from China to the U.S. The first delivery of the plant is expected to be around mid-2024. The price of the Chinese region announced by
is: dual-motor long-range version with 880,000 yuan, and dual-motor high-performance version with 1.03 million yuan. In terms of this price, the Audi Q5 e-tron, which is also a luxury medium and large pure electric SUV, costs about 370,000 to 470,000 yuan; the Cadillac LYRIQ is about 430,000 to 470,000 yuan; the NIO ES8 price is about 470,000 to 600,000 yuan, and it is even more expensive than the BMW flagship pure electric SUV - iX (746,900 to 99,969,000 yuan). Therefore, this car may have relatively few sales in China, mainly for the purpose of attracting value from the brand.
