electric motorcycles is really coming one after another. After introducing Zero from the United States before, another American two-wheeled electric motorcycle is about to be mass-produced. This is what we are going to introduce today from Ryvid. Anthem electric motorcycle, let’s take a look at how it is different from previous electric motorcycles.
Why does Ryvid want to make electric motorcycles?
Ryvid is an electric motorcycle company from the United States. Its founder, Doug Tran, graduated from the Detroit Institute of Creative Arts (Detroit is the car city in the United States); he previously worked at General Motors, BMW Design Center of the United States, Toyota Tokyo Design Laboratory and Honda R&D Department Work. He is also the chief designer of the Icon seaplane. The founder of likes motorcycles very much. He believes that motorcycles, as a means of transportation, are booming in Vietnam , India, Indonesia and Latin American markets, and at the moment when fossil energy is soaring, battery prices will definitely fall in the future ; Nowadays, the conditions for electrification are mature, and the launch of electric motorcycles is the general trend ; It is also against this background that this Anthem electric motorcycle is launched, with a price of about US$7,800.
Highlights and features of the entire vehicle
First of all, this is an electric motorcycle that uses a modular design. The entire frame is made of 316 stainless steel, which is cut by laser and then riveted together, so no seams can be seen. The steering head is also modular in design, which is convenient for riders to DIY or replace after purchase. At the same time, the chassis supports different geometries .
Secondly, the whole vehicle is equipped with a removable battery pack , which is 4.3KWh. Moreover, this battery pack is equipped with hidden wheels. After disassembly, it can be pulled to a distant place to complete charging like a trolley case; the entire battery pack uses domestic Farasis (Fu Neng ) batteries, and Funeng's batteries are also It appears in the electric brand Zero models that have been mass-produced and retailed.
The motor, rear swing arm and frame are concentrated at the rear of the vehicle. The entire design structure is similar to the design of a scooter. It’s just that the motor is not installed on the frame, but directly on the swing arm, and drives the rear wheel through the Gates belt that is completely enclosed in the swing arm (this design was adopted by BMW on the early electric motorcycle C Evolution); The advantage of this is that it has less impact on the unsprung weight. The rocker arm is made of aluminum and can also dissipate heat for the motor.
Due to the low and forward position of the battery, and the low center of gravity of the motor, the center of gravity of this electric motorcycle is smaller than that of most fuel motorcycles. Anthem does not use traditional wiring harnesses in terms of technology, but uses an insulated printed circuit board (PCB) with connectors, so the light combination switch device can be plugged directly in (a bit like the way our computer motherboards are directly plugged into SSDs or other components) .
The maximum speed of the vehicle is around 120km. Obviously, the current 4.3KWh battery pack cannot meet the requirements. Therefore, founder Tran said that the version that will be officially launched in the future will control the battery life of the vehicle to 80km at a speed of 100km per hour.
Finally, this car will enter the trial production stage at the end of this year, and 20 units will be trial-produced for demonstration to investors and to raise funds. It may take more time to actually mass-produce and sell it. What do fellow riders think? Welcome to leave a message to discuss and share!
