The Qingliang Mountain Chronicle There is a poem describing Bishan Temple : "The setting sun in Bishan Temple is by the ancient stream, white clouds grow in green hills, and the cold springs under the bright moon." If you appreciate it carefully, you will feel that Bishan Temple is quiet and beautiful, and it is simply a wonderful fine brushwork painting. If you are on-site, you will feel the emotion when you are touched by the scene, and you will feel a different kind of poetry and painting. Before entering the temple, I saw a wooden archway with extremely fine carvings hanging on a plaque with a book "Cool and Shake" hanging on it. Looking at the backing of the temple, you can see the mountains that are large in the middle and small on both sides, just like a three-dimensional "mountain" created by heaven. When I entered the temple and looked around, I saw the temple open and the temple was magnificent, with a solemn and solemn scene.

Bishan Temple was founded in Northern Wei and rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. It was once called Puji Temple , Huguo Temple, Beishan Temple, etc. in the Qing Dynasty during the Qianlong period, was renamed Bishan Temple. During the Xuantong period, it was also called Guangji Thatched Hut . In the second year of Xuantong, two old practitioners, Chenggan and Hengxiu, worshipped Wutai Mountain. When they reached the top of the North Taipei , the weather suddenly changed and the north wind was cold, causing their feet to be frostbite. They also met two people who were frozen to death halfway through the Huayan Ridge in , Beitai, . When I thought about the idea of worshiping the North Taitung, I needed a place of food and accommodation. The two old practitioners vowed to build a thatched hut for the monks and lay Buddhists who worshipped Beitai to rest and drink. Therefore, they founded the "Guangji Thatched hut" and bought a part of the property from Bishan Temple under the top of Beitai, making the mountain and the mountain go together. Later, Guangji thatched hut was integrated with Bishan Temple, and Bishan Temple was changed from a descendant temple to a ten-sided jungle. This temple has the following three characteristics: any visiting monk who come from south to north will be responsible for food and accommodation; the abbot's monk implements the system of selecting talents; the disciples saved by the monks of the forest are not allowed to live in this temple forever. Due to the above reasons, Bishan Temple has made great connections and gathered famous monks and teachers, and its influence has become increasingly greater. It is not only famous in the Buddhist community across the country, but also has a certain reputation in Southeast Asian countries. In the past, from the fifteenth day of the fourth lunar month to the fifteenth day of the seventh day of the lunar month, there were famous monks and masters in Bishan Temple preaching to monks from all over the country. In winter, we will preach to the monks in the temple again. During the Republic of China, the three masters Xuyun, Yuanying and Yin Guang, who were very popular in the Buddhist circles at home and abroad, all held lectures at Bishan Temple. They also went abroad to preach the scriptures and preach the Dharma. The Zen Buddhism in the United States was promoted by Xuyun.

Guangji thatched hut is famous overseas, now. The temple contains bronze plaques and fire plaques donated by believers from Singapore and Malaysian , and jade Buddha statues invited from Myanmar.

There are four main halls on the central axis of Bishan Temple, covering an area of 24 acres and more than 50 halls and buildings. The first hall to enter is the Heavenly King Hall. In the Buddha's niche in the middle of the hall, there is Maitreya Buddha . Four heavenly kings stand on both sides, bypassing Maitreya Buddha. In the niche in the middle of the back door, there is the guardian god Weituo . All icons are installed in niches and in wall windows. It is different from the installation of the Heavenly King Hall in other temples. The famous monk Jinbifeng of the Yuan Dynasty and the famous monk Gu Yue of the Ming Dynasty all talked about the sutras here. To this day, there are Jinbi Peak and Zen Master Guyue’s tomb towers on the mountain opposite the temple.

The second hall is Vairo section, also known as the Leiyin Temple. The center of the hall is in the hall, and the twelve bodhisattvas are offered to Vairocana, and the two walls are offered to the twelve bodhisattvas. The left wall is arranged from the corner of the back wall to the front of the door and window, and the six bodhisattvas are arranged in sequence from the corner of the back wall to the front of the door and window, and the six bodhisattvas are arranged in sequence from the corner of the back wall to the front of the door and window. A Vajra stands on each side of the door, and all the bodhisattvas are decorated with spiritual light, and there are bodhisattvas waiting for reason around the two bodhisattvas. The setting in the hall is solemn and grand.

Outside the left gable wall of the main hall, there is a stone carving poem written by the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, titled: Five Taipei Mountain Temples and Centennial Old Monk. There are four poems, the second poem says: "I don't know the fall of the sky when my eyes are wrong, but I can talk about the affairs of the previous dynasty. Iron rod Wulang once protected my car, and the bronze platform shows the monk Wutai." Folk legend says that Wutai Mountain is where the Yang family members of the Yang family have been active. Yang Wulang became a monk and first went to Bishan Temple, and then went to Taiping Xingguo Temple not far from Bishan Temple.Taiping Xingguo Temple was built at the time of , Song Taizong . Because Yang Wulang was the second generation monk in this temple, the people called it "Wulang Temple". There is a high platform on the mountain outside the temple, which people call it "Wurang Military Parade Platform". Now, although Wulang Temple no longer exists, the story of Wulang coaching 500 monk soldiers , fighting against the Liao soldiers and killing Han Chang is still widely circulated. During the Republic of China, a female lay Buddhist, Shi Jianqiao, took revenge for the biological father Shi Congbin, who was the commander of the Shandong Provincial Military Affairs Office and the commander of the First Army. In 1935, she personally shot and killed Sun Chuanfang, a warlord who killed his father, and came here to practice.

The third entrance hall is called the Hall Hall. There is a ring altar made of bluestone in the middle of the hall, which is five points long, five meters wide and one point high. It is the only ring altar in Wutai Mountain. The Altar of Justice was first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. When Emperor Xiaowen was , Facon, who was the first to promote the Vinaya School, once gave a lecture on " Four-part Law " here. Later, there were always a place where the ordination was passed down from generation to generation. The existing altar is a relic of the Ming Dynasty. There is a Burmese stone jade Buddha on the altar. The Jade Buddha sat cross-legged on the lotus platform, his clothes were simple, his hair was bulging, his cheeks were plump, his expression was cheerful, he looked down at the bottom and thoughtful, and he still looked handsome young. This vivid carving of a historical figure is the same size as the real person sitting cross-legged . Needless to mention the realistic and exquisite carving art, the original jade raw materials are also very rare. It is said that in the 17th and 8th year of the Republic of China, an old monk from Jiangxi went to India with an old monk. After passing through Myanmar, he invited three jade Buddhas to return to his country. One was placed in Shanghai and built Jade Buddha Temple , and one was placed in Wuhan Guiyuan Temple, and the other one was this. Eighteen Arhats arranged on both sides of the hall. They are all golden bodies of the same color, made of special beads, and are called lacquered yarn arhats. When making a mold, first make a sand mold, then paste it with yarn, cloth and glue on the outside, and hollow out the sand inside after forming. Luohan , made of lacquer yarn technology, is light in body and solid in texture, and is very suitable for traveling to travel far away. According to the merits of the merits of the Bishan Temple in Wutai Mountain on the left front of the second entrance hall, in the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, there were Buddha statues on the altar hall. "The two sides were still empty, and the wonderful statues of monks in this temple were determined to recruit them. They traveled to Shengjing and met with the great tribes of the capital, Xian Tong Gong, who lived in the east, and cultivated good causes for the generations. They were now the priest and officials to do Buddhist affairs. They ordered them to go to Gusu to build strange arhats, Guanyin Master , and Weituo's holy statues. They traveled more than 4,000 miles in water and land. They were still sent to Kyoto for offering altars, and niches were arranged to set up seats, which were solemn and beautiful." It can be seen that the eighteen arhats in the altar hall of Bishan Temple had taken a lot of trouble.

The last time I entered the hall was on a high platform at the foot of the mountain, with a small courtyard alone. The hall faced west and east, with a main hall on the south and north sides. The main hall has five rooms wide and two floors above and below. It was originally a Sutra Hall. It once had all the Tripitaka published on April 8, the thirteenth year of Yongzheng, totaling more than 7,500 volumes. In the middle of the hall, next to the back wall, there is a tall Maitreya Buddha statue , with its head extending to the second floor hall. The method of shaping Maitreya Buddha is not to meditate cross-legged, but to sit in a posture, with legs hanging naturally and feet pushing to the ground, which is called "Maitreya's descending life". According to Buddhist teachings, Sakyamuni Buddha is the present Buddha and Maitreya Buddha is the future Buddha. The Maitreya Sutra says that Maitreya Buddha now lives in Tushita html for 4 days. The " Maitreya Sutra " says that he will be born in this world from Tushita in the future, inherit Sakyamuni under the dragon tree and become a Buddha. This statue of "Maitreya's Lower Life" certainly takes the latter statement.

There are many inscriptions in Bishan Temple. In addition to the previous quote, in front of the Jietan Hall, there is a reorganized stele erected in the first month of Dingwei in Chenghua, a stone carving stele erected in the first year of Hongzhi , a Ming Zhengde , a Shenshun Gengwu stele , and a Wutai Bishan Temple stele made in the 19th year of Kangxi. From this we can see that in history, Bishan Temple was a large temple in Wutai Mountain.
