Go and invite the Buddha Tathagata
When I was a child, I felt the most amazing thing was Tathagata .
Jade Emperor hid under the imperial table and shouted to the gods: "Go and invite Buddha Tathagata." It really lost the face of Jade Emperor , and also highlighted the profound magic power of Tathagata.
But the description here in "Journey to the West" should be problematic.
Let’s first understand the Buddhist definition of Buddha, and it will be clear.
Buddhism divides Buddha into three types, namely Dharmakaya Buddha, Retribution Buddha, and Responsive Body Buddha. These three types of Buddha represent different meanings, or different levels of practice.
First of all, Dharmakaya Buddha
Before we talk about Dharmakaya Buddha, let’s first understand what “body” is. The body here is not what we call the body, but represents the “meaning”, which is similar to the “Tao” mentioned in our Taoist . It is the foundation of everything, it is the source of the world and the essence of the universe as Buddhism calls it.

Once you know the meaning of "body", you will be clear when you look at the Dharma Bodhi Buddha. The Dharma body is the source of everything in Buddhism, all things and all sentient beings, can also be said to be a Buddha.
The second reward body Buddha
The reward body Buddha is different from the Dharma body Buddha. He is the solemn Buddha body that rewards the blessings and virtues that the practitioners gather, and is a manifestation of the perfect practice and great enlightenment. This is also the highest level that all Buddhist believers can achieve.
is also divided into two types based on the reward body Buddha, one is called the self-receiving body, and the other is called the other is called the other enjoying body.
The self-help body means that one can practice perfectly, always enjoy the boundless joy of Dharma, have boundless majestic appearance, and pervade the Dharma realm without any action.
Jigong
His enjoyment body is to complete one's own practice and to transform and guide Bodhisattvas above the tenth level. Therefore, the wisdom of equality shows the subtle and pure merit body, so that all great Bodhisattvas can eat the joy of Mahayana Dharma in the pure Buddha land.
Third Responsive Buddha
Responsive Buddha is the concrete embodiment of the Buddha in the secular world. It can be changed in a variety of ways. It can be a man or a woman, a bird or a beast. The Buddha is transformed into all things and then used to teach the world. This is the main function of the Buddha in response to the body. Therefore, the Buddhas of the Responsible Bodhi are often real people. These three relationships of
may not be easy to understand. Let’s give an example and you will understand it.
This example is not what I said, but comes from the book "The Sutra of Sutra of the Avatamsaka Sutra". This book compares the relationship between Dharma body, reward body and response body to the sun, sunlight, and shadow.
Dingdar phenomenon: The ancients often believed that it was Buddha light
Dharma body is the sun. Whether it is cloudy or sunny, it will always exist, and this is the foundation. The reward body is the sunlight, the most intuitive display of the sun, which allows people to see it. The body is a shadow. When the sun shines on different objects, it will show different shadows.
has said so much, do you know that when we often go to Minglou Baosha to visit, are those three types of Buddhas?
First of all, it is the Dharmakaya Buddha. Everyone is familiar with this Buddha. His name is Vairocana Buddha . We usually call it Great Sun Tathagata , which is the one who Jade Emperor wants to invite.
The name of the Buddha of the Reward Body is Lushana Buddha . You may not feel that you know this person very much. But I will know one person, that is , Wu Zetian , the big Buddha built by Wu Zetian according to his appearance in the Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang is the famous Buddha Lushen.
Longmen Grottoes
Echo Body Buddha is real, Buddhism calls it "Namo's teacher Shikamuni Buddha" , which is the famous Shikamuni, the Indian prince who founded Buddhism.
Knows this, and then read the sentence "Go and invite Buddha" in "Journey to the West", and there will be a problem. The Great Sun Tathagata Buddha is the humanized of all roots and does not exist. What should be really invited should be "Lushana Buddha".
