Since Master Haideng appeared at the Spring Festival Gala hosted by CCTV in 1984, people have become very interested in this martial arts master and Buddhist monk. Regarding his legendary experience in his life, people have written novels, newspapers, magazines, and pictorial comics. Recently, the TV series " Sea Light Legend " filmed by Sichuan TV has started filming. The start of the TV series will undoubtedly add magical color to people's curiosity. Can it be more exciting than the "one-finger Zen" that can personally see the extraordinary skills on the screen?
What is the current situation of an 83-year-old man? Can you still do one-finger Zen? On October 29, at the opening ceremony of "The Legend of Sea Lamps" held in Chengdu, I had the idea of interviewing the Master of Sea Lamps, so I learned from the director of the drama Xie Hong that the residence of HaiLamps , and hurried to Chonghua Town, Jiangyou County, Sichuan.
Chonghua Town is the birthplace of sea lanterns. The local government built a house for sea lanterns. A plaque written by Yang Chao, former secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, was hung at the door.
In the reception room full of banners, the sea lights received me. He is short, thin cheeks, and is wearing brown Chinese clothes. Haideng told me in a Sichuan accent that although he was an elderly man in his 80s, he still got up at four o'clock every day to practice martial arts and even accepted disciples to teach his skills. Can you still do the "one-finger shot" exercise? I subconsciously glanced at the camera beside me. When I was about to express my purpose for this trip, his apprentice Deng Wenjin came to pick him up. I stared at me and saw his right hand trembling slightly. I suddenly remembered the notice posted on the door, "As long as the doctor's instructions, I will not be able to take care of my illness." Then I realized that the sea lamp was sick. The urgent wish turns into silent wishes, and I wish Master Haideng a speedy recovery.
Haideng roughly saw what I was thinking and said, "I am indeed sick. I didn't attend the opening ceremony of "The Legend of the Sea" and I'm sorry to have let everyone down." Haideng is a special consultant of the drama "The Legend of the Sea". He has carefully read the director's workbench and repeatedly emphasized that "The Legend of the Sea" should not go against his real experience.
"This drama is beneficial to the health of the people. Only with a healthy body can you work better. I can exercise when I am in my 80s. What do I rely on? I rely on martial arts. I hope everyone can exercise when I am in my 80s." Speaking of this, he asked Deng Wenjin to bring his "Shaolin Yunshui Poetry Collection". "This is the 'one finger Zen' technique, which was taken when filming a movie in 1979." Master Hayden said plainly, "It was Shaolin's true ritual. When he was in Mount Emei, he was taught by his master Rufeng. I learned boxing at the age of seven, but I couldn't practice it when I was young, and I only started after I was twenty. I practiced this skill, I must first practice boy ritual . The skill is divided into two postures of sitting and lying down to lay the foundation. Without decades of internal skills, I cannot take this risk."
"What's the use?" Obviously, this is a very layman's question. "Pull the acupoint!" Obviously, he was unhappy to answer such questions. When we asked him that he was meditating at Shigong Temple in Dongting Mountain, Suzhou in 1959, and did not eat or drink for twenty days, and felt hungry; when I asked him that he had never lie down to sleep for sixty years, and was sleepy or not, he had the same attitude; in the old master's opinion, the realm achieved by practicing this kind of kung fu is something that people in the world cannot understand and do not need to understand. In fact, we want to see the mystery from this kind of violation of routine. It might have been driven by curiosity that we asked to see his inner room, and he happily agreed. The place where he meditates every night is a steel wire bed.On the half end of the bed, lay a cushion and hung a mosquito net (only half the width of the ordinary mosquito net). He rested on it for the few hours after reading and chanting night and before starting practice routines at 4 o'clock in Lingzhan.

"How good is your food?"
He said that he only bought 25 kilograms of rice a month, and eating some pickles every day is enough, and he still pickled it himself. The food cost is 6 yuan, and it is only 10 yuan at most. We don’t understand. How can he bear it when practicing so hard and exercise so much? This question is left to physiologists, medical scientists and psychologists to answer!
In the legendary experience of Master Haideng, there was a beautiful story: flying away on an iron chain on a cliff, holding up the young man who dared to fall with one hand; the plum blossom fist that was punched on five 100-2 feet high wooden stakes, surrounding the wind, and being agile like a monkey... But what interested us in particular was that he had gone to college and knew foreign languages. Haideng also admitted that it was true.
"After graduating from Sichuan Police Supervision College, I planned to stay in Japan, but later I did not go abroad because of studying martial arts. I studied at Sichuan University liberal arts for a while, and then transferred to Law and Political University, but I had not studied for a year." Speaking of foreign languages, he explained: "At that time, I could understand the English version of "Artificial Nights" and I learned it at Mianyang Normal University in Sichuan..."
Speaking of the past, the serious old master still had a cold and plain expression.
"My mother died at the age of five. My father was a tailor and was beaten to death by black..." With his low voice, a group of dim shots seemed to appear in front of me:

At that time, Haideng did have the idea of going abroad to see it. But when he learned that , Henan Songshan Shaolin Temple has become a place of attention for people at home and abroad, he came to visit and the temple lacked the true teachings of Shaolin Style Gong, so he resolutely set off for , Shaolin Temple , which had been away for eighteen years...
In Shaolin Temple, the country wanted to send sea lanterns a monthly living expenses of 200 yuan, but he refused and still refused. In the end, he barely took over 120 yuan. His life is still so hard that he can live a few yuan a month. During the day, he taught all monks to practice martial arts, and at night, he wrote books with the green lamp, and dedicated his efforts to the people for decades of practicing martial arts. Therefore, guests and friends from all over the world were scrambling to see the old man's style, and many people immediately took off their shirts and vests and begged the sea lamp to sign on it as a souvenir. Speaking of this, Master Haideng's eyes shone brightly, and I became excited. Since he returned to his hometown of Jiangyou last spring, the government immediately started to build Haideng Martial Arts Hall . Like the past, Haideng helped neighbors in need, this time he generously donated 10,000 yuan.
The interview ended and boarded the bus soon. The old master arrived and gave us two apples. He said that this book was for offering fruits.Suddenly, an indescribable mood surged into my heart...attachment? respect? Or even bitter? Somehow, we think of the Kuafu in ancient mythology, the Xingtian who is always there, the Jingwei bird who carries stones and fills the sea, the Ganjiang who puts himself into the furnace for the sword, of course, there are Xuanzang who goes west to seek scriptures, and Jianzhen who travels to Japan to the east... These people who sacrifice themselves and seek Dharma have a spirit of unswerving until death; their pursuit of self-sacrifice for faith, the courage to defeat Mount Tai and perseverance. At this moment of parting, I only have one wish, which is to let "Legend of Sea Lamps" be screened in the morning. At that time, we can not only see the magnificent picture of the changing Chinese nation back then, but also meet the Master of Sea Lamps in the prelude before each episode. He is concentrating on cultivating the new seedlings of Chinese martial arts , with bright light in his eyes.
