All the "images" that your eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind can touch are illusory and unreal. Only when you use these " false appearances ", you can see the unmoving true nature.

In order to teach people not to be attached, there is also a very stern verse in the Diamond Sutra:

If you see me with your colors, please me with your voice. It is because people walk on the evil path and cannot see the Tathagata.

If you are obsessed with external appearances and are greedy for external appearances, it is "taking the evil path". In this way, you will not only not be able to see the true nature, but also go astray.

How to break the attachment to "phase" ?

There is a saying in the Diamond Sutra: No self, no human form, no sentient being form, no life form, no life form.

"I am the appearance" means the attachment to the self, and "human appearance" is the discriminating mind.

First, I was attached to me and had the concept of "I", so I had distinctions: this is mine, this is his, this is yours, and then I had the "image of sentient beings".

So, the source of all problems lies in "I (Photo)".

"The Analects of Confucius" says-

The four sub-subjects: do not intend, do not necessarily, do not be solid, do not me.

Don’t be obsessed with me.

Zhuangzi at the beginning of " People's World " -

Yan Hui Want to work in Weiguo and correct Wei Jun, Confucius You know that according to Yan Hui's personality, you will suffer losses.

After all, a person who is too good is a kind of harm to others when standing there.

So Confucius taught Yan Hui " Xinzhai ".

replied, "I dare to ask about Xinfa."

Zhongni said, "If you have ambition, you don't listen to it and listen to it with your heart, and you don't listen to it with your heart and listen to it with your qi! Listen to it with your ears, and the heart stops with your talisman. Qi is the one who is empty and treats things. Only the Tao gathers and emptiness. Empty is the one who is the heart fast."

After Yan Hui returned home to practice, he came back to report to Confucius:

"If you return before you start, you will return by yourself; if you get it, you will return without beginning."

Before I practiced Xinzhai, I thought there was a Yan Hui in this world, but after I practiced Xinzhai, I found that there was no Yan Hui in this world.

When Confucius heard this, he knew that Yan Hui had already understood, because when you jump out of yourself, you will not be restrained by yourself, and you will have no self. At this time, you will be able to see through the truth of the world.

Then what is " life-long phase "?

life-long phase is time.

In the world we live in, time is a one-way quantification, and everyone is moving along the trajectory of time.

But at the same time, we are also using "" time.

For example -

In the movie " Big Journey to the West ", The Supreme Treasure of Sun Wukong was reincarnated into the mountain king. One day, a huge spider spirit came to their village.

At that time, all the power of the copycat was not enough to compete with the spider spirit.

What was the Supreme Treasure doing at this time?

He and the second head were dancing around the campfire, and even he was burned by the fire, and everyone stomped around.

Stephen Chow uses a "nonsense" way to tell this story, but behind it, it actually introduces the time factor -

When you meet an extremely powerful opponent, what you can do is in addition to surrender, there is also "drag".

drag is to introduce time factors, and as time changes, wait for the powerful enemy to weaken, and wait for an opportunity that is beneficial to you.

This is the way we will choose in many cases, but we usually use daily use without knowing it.

We live in time, most of the time is just limited by time, and forget to use time and jump out of time.

Just like we are breathing every moment, we rarely notice our own breathing.

—So the "Anpa Thought" in meditation is to let you "know" "know" breathing.

You need to be aware of those things that are "daily use without knowing".

Why do you need to be "the appearance of a person without life"?

Because after breaking out of the constraints of time, you will see a lot.

Once, a senior brother asked: What is the difference between unintentional and ignorance?

I thought about it carefully and said that "intentional", "unintentional" and "ignorance" may be a gradually deepening concept.

For example:

At work, someone scolded you angrily.

For a moment, you will think: he is intentional , and he is targeting me (this is your emotional reaction, probably not true).

If you go deeper into this person, you will find that his temper, personality, behavioral style are actually caused by family reasons or personal growth experience.

"He gets angry at you" may not be intentional, but he will do the same with others. He is unintentional , he is just used to using this method to deal with the world he sees.

Looking further down, why did he meet such a family and have such an experience? This is ignorance.

From this point of view, you can know that all the "intentional" of is actually "unintentional", and all the unintentional originates from "ignorance".

Thinking of this, how can there be no unforgivable person in this world? How could there be anything unforgivable?

If you understand this, compassion will naturally arise in your heart, and compassion will give birth to wisdom.

We are limited by lifespan (time), and can only see the various experiences in this life, but what happened before this?

we can't see it.

It's like watching surveillance. You only see A appear in the screen and beat B hard.

A is so angry that she is so pitiful.

So we will think A is very domineering, B is a weak person and is bullied.

But, if we see more surveillance screens.

In the surveillance screen a month ago, B led a group of people and beat A to the point of bleeding. After being beaten, A curled up on the ground and shivered.

After watching these pictures, how will you judge A and B?

Due to time constraints, many times we only see one of the pictures or angles. In fact, we don’t know what this matter is.

This is the "life-long appearance". You must jump out to see a more profound scene.

This is the meaning of the four words "the appearance of the lifeless person".
