According to legend, after Shakyamuni preached in Shavajra , five disciples including Aruo Chen Ru soon attained the Arhat fruit, and at the same time, many, countless people have attained the Holy fruit. This result made the monk disciples who followed Sakyamuni to study Buddhism happy, and everyone praised the Buddha's extraordinary and wonderful methods even more.

But after learning about the praises of the monks, Sakyamuni was not particularly happy. Instead, he deeply reminded everyone that if you want to attain the supreme Bodhi, you cannot obtain it in your lifetime.

What you see is that Chen Ru and others have attained Arhats, but what you don’t know is that they have practiced for countless lifetimes. Even I have met them many times in my past lives and have given them guidance.

Then, in order to make the disciples understand the painstaking efforts of practicing more, Sakyamuni told a story from a long time ago...

In the supreme past life, a big river flowed in a remote place. I don’t know how long the existence of the big river has been. Many creatures are born with the river water.

: There is a turtle in the river. This turtle is not an ordinary turtle. It has practiced for many lifetimes and has already possessed a compassionate heart.

The turtle lives in the river every day, free and unrestrained, and sometimes climbs on the grass by the river for a walk. Everything is so peaceful and harmonious.

On this day, the turtle was playing on the grass by the river again. As he walked, he was a little sleepy and fell asleep accidentally.

When the turtle was asleep, a small ant was looking for food in the grass and just crawled onto the sleeping turtle. The little ant was very happy and immediately returned to the cave to notify his companions. Everyone came to the turtle together, preparing to eat, and not only looked forward to drag the leftover food back to their ant hole.

Countless little ants rushed up like this and bit them around the turtle. Although the ants were small, they couldn't help but have too many. The turtle quickly woke up in pain. When he opened his eyes, he saw that his whole body was full of ants, and these little guys were still devouring his body.

At this time, the turtle quickly realized the urgent form. So many ants devoured their bodies. If they did not get rid of this predicament as soon as possible, they would be at a disaster at any time.

And the river beside you is close by. As long as the turtle holds up the pain a little and returns to the river as soon as possible, ants are most afraid of water and can get out of trouble in a blink of an eye.

But the turtle immediately thought that ants are most afraid of water. If they jump into the water, they can certainly get rid of the entanglement of ants, but so many ants will definitely die without a place to bury them.

So, the turtle with compassion decided that he would definitely find other ways to relieve the pain, and could not bring thousands of ants into a state of no return. Even if he gave up his life, he could not endanger other lives.

So, the turtle endured the biting of the ants so hard, lying motionlessly.

What is even more rare is that the turtle still makes a vow in his heart, hoping that with this good root, the ignorant beings who are indulged in the samsara can be liberated, those who are not liberated can also be liberated, those who are not liberated can be liberated, those who are not happy can be happy, and those who are not nirvana can be able to be nirvana very soon.

Turtle also made a vow to use its good roots to obtain the fruits of Tathagata , offerings, human and heavenly mentors, righteous enlightenment and other fruits in the future.

The turtle continued to endure the biting of the ant colony, thinking in my heart that I would use my flesh and blood to satisfy these ant creatures in this life, and hope that in my future life, I can use my own wonderful methods to satisfy them.

Speaking of this, Sakyamuni finally told his disciples who had heard the gods that the turtle that was a long time ago was actually me. I have now attained the perfect Bodhi fruit, and the group of ants at that time were the 80,000 emperors who achieved the holy fruit this time.

In my past life, I used my flesh and blood to satisfy them. In this life, my ambition of that year was finally realized. I was able to use my own wonderful methods to save them so that they can also achieve the ultimate nirvana. This is the cause and condition between me and them.

After hearing Sakyamuni's words, the disciples praised the Buddha's good intentions even more, so they devoted themselves to their practice. Later, in some years, more people attained the fruit position of .
