" She County Chronicles " records that there was a high monk in the Song Dynasty, known as "Snow Mountain Zi". He is from , She County, with a secular surname Ji and his name is Dao Mao.

Ji Daomao is kind by nature. When he was a teenager, he often went to the grass to sleep in the summer and fed mosquitoes with his body. At the age of twenty, Ji Daomao became a monk in Puman Zen Temple in Xiuning and officially converted to Buddhism .

After Ji Daomao became a monk, he made rapid progress and had high attainments in Buddhism. He was respected as "Snow Mountain Son".

At that time, a man named Guo Sanyi became the county magistrate of Xiuning . Guo Sanyi did not believe in Buddhism, but since he talked with Xue Shanzi a few times, he fell in love with Buddhism and became a lay Buddhist.

This shows how profound the Snow Mountain Son's attainment in Buddhism and how great his personality is.

A few years later, Xueshanzi moved to Bailang Mountain in Tongzhou. One evening, he returned to the meditation room from outside, looked at the vast dusk, and gave himself a Dharma name "Jue'an".

Although Xue Shanzi is well versed in Buddhism, he rarely preaches to others. Someone asked him about the true meaning of Buddhism, and he replied, "The true meaning of Buddhism is the ultimate truth, how can you tell others easily?"

A man's wife died and was heartbroken. He came to Xueshanzi and knelt down and asked to be Xueshanzi's disciple.

Xue Shanzi refused to accept the man's request. He said to other monks: "This person does not really want to become a monk, but because he lost his wife, he could not accept this pain for the time being, so he acted intently. He is not a real person who can practice Buddhism."

The man later married another wife and spent money to buy a delicate concubine. Xueshanzi was indeed well received.

Song Huizong During the Daguan period, the prefect of Tongzhou ordered a monk named Xingyue to be the abbot of the Heavenly King Zen Temple. Xingyue told the prefect that he was Xue Shanzi's apprentice and asked Xue Shanzi to admit that he was his master in public.

In fact, Xingyue is lying. Xue Shanzi is not his master at all. He is giving to his face to take advantage of Xue Shanzi's reputation.

Xue Shanzi ignored Xingyue's request. Xingyue felt that Xue Shanzi had refuted her face, so she held a grudge against Xue Shanzi.

Later, Xueshanzi passed away. After Xingyue learned about it, he falsely accused Xue Shanzi of the prefect and said, "Sir, as far as I know, Xue Shanzi did not pass away, but his disciples were deceiving the world. If you don't believe it, you can send someone to check Xue Shanzi's body."

The prefect said to Xingyue, "Since that's the case, then you can go and check it." Xingyue was overjoyed and came to Xue Shanzi's Zen room where Xue Shanzi passed away, and kicked Xue Shanzi's body hard.

Xue Shanzi's body was kicked, and Xingyue made people forcefully straighten Xue Shanzi's body, which proves that Xue Shanzi did not pass away.

However, after Xue Shanzi's body is straightened, it will recover. Xingyue was furious and ordered his subordinates to take Xue Shanzi's body to a place called Xiguandu and burn it with a pile of firewood.

After the fire was burned, Xueshanzi's " capsular bone roots are not damaged", and many relics were burned. Seeing this, Xingyue slipped away in shame. During his lifetime, Xue Shanzi wrote a book called "Chiyang Hundred Questions" which was passed down to later generations.
