Once, Buddha passed through a forest, and that day was very hot,
and it was noon, and he felt thirsty, so he told the waiter Ananda :
"We crossed a stream not long ago, you go back and get some water for me."
Ananda turned around and looked for the stream, but the stream was too small, and some cars passed by, stream
The water was very dirty and the water could not be drunk.
So Ananda came back and told the Buddha: "The water in the stream has become very dirty and cannot be drunk. I
and we continue to walk forward. I know there is a river that is only a few miles away from here."
Buddha said: "No, you should go back to the stream just now."
Ananda followed suit on the surface, but he was not convinced in his heart. He thought the water was so dirty, and it was just a waste of time
. He walked halfway. He ran back and said, "Why do you have to persist?"
The Buddha said firmly without explaining, "You go again." Ananda had to obey.
When he came to this stream again,
The stream was as clear and pure as it used to be, and the mud and sand had flowed away.
Ananda laughed and danced back with water, bowed to the Buddha and said, "Master,
You taught me a great lesson. Nothing is eternal, you just need patience."
Everything in the world flows, everything changes, no eternity; everything is relative, everything is temporary.
