Shrangam Temple , located on Xinxing Street in the middle of Yingkou City, is a key cultural relic protection unit. is the number one temple in southern Liaoning. It is one of the relatively complete large-scale temple complexes in the Republic of China that exist in Northeast China. It is also called "" Harbin Jile Temple, Changchun Prajna Temple, and Shenyang Cien Temple. "It is the first monastery of the "Four Great Zen Forests" in Northeast China.



The temple is a regular rectangle, facing south, 164 meters long from north to south, 49 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of ​​8,036 square meters, with a construction area of ​​2,500 square meters. The main buildings are the Bell and Drum Tower, Heavenly King Hall, Daxiong Hall and Tibetan Scripture Building. The scale is huge and the momentum is magnificent. In Yingkou, the mention of " Shurangama Temple ", no one knows, no one knows, its reputation spreads inside and outside the pass.



"Langyan Temple" is called "Srangama Temple" in full, and it takes the name " Shurangama Sutra" is the main Buddhist temple. . According to the "Yingkou County Chronicles", the Shurangama Temple "was planned to build a Fanzheng palace in the spring of the thirteenth year of the Republic of China (1924).... The temple project was completed in the autumn of the 20th year of the Republic of China (1931) It will be consecrated in September."



There are 99 Buddhist halls in the Shrangam Monastery.The courtyard is regular, and the main buildings are distributed on a central axis running from the south to the north. The main halls are built on granite bases, with corridors on all sides, and the walls are grinded and cracked. The gate is a large eaves and a mountain-like roof, with glazed tile roofs, magnificent and magnificent. Inside the mountain gate is the first to enter the courtyard. There are two buildings with bells and drums in the east and west, which are double-layer cornices. The four corners of the roof are curved and majestic. The front is the Palace of Heavenly Kings, and the ridge of the temple is decorated with openwork dragons. The style of this group of buildings clearly reflects the unique style of the temple.



On the front of the second courtyard is the Daxiong Palace, the main building of the Lenggan Temple. It uses a large wooden frame with a hard mountain, and each of the two mountains is painted Rarely seen in other temples. There is a pillar of fire in the middle of the ridge of the temple, which is independent in the sky. The front and back reliefs of the ridge of the hall are hollowed out, exquisitely and transparently. This design not only adds a decorative meaning, but also saves building materials. It can also buffer the wind resistance, reduce the pressure on the foundation and prolong the life of the palace. Both ends of the ridge of the temple are carved with owl tails. There are five sets of beasts on the lower part of the spine, with different postures, and their gods and shapes are beautiful. Looking up at the roof of the entire hall, the auspicious beasts danced lightly, leaping forward, dazzling people and overwhelming.



Three-entry courtyard The Tibetan Buddhist building on the front is a double-layered large wooden framed hard-rolling building with a front face. The structural specifications of the side halls on both sides are the same as the first and second courtyards. The Buddhist statues in the Shurangama Temple have many names and different materials. Wood carvings, clay sculptures, bronze castings, porcelain burning, silk paintings, etc., the whole temple enshrines and collects a total of 42 large Buddha statues (pieces). The Buddhist sculpture artist of the Shurangama Temple, hired from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong, is a generation of famous artists. On the basis of inheriting the traditional sculpture art, deliberately seeking new ideas, blending the north and south genres in one furnace, its vivid shape and vivid color painting have reached a state of ecstasy.All sculptures have their own characteristics, with affectionate eyebrows, hand-footed gestures, lifelike hopes, and answers like answers. There are more than 720 scriptures of Ming and Qing editions co-existed in the Buddhist scripture building of this temple, each with 10 volumes and 10 volumes per volume. Among the famous ones are all the Diamond Sutras and all Tripitaka, which account for about two-thirds of the total number of sutras.



The Shurangama Temple will be held on the eighth day of April in the lunar calendar every year. In the past, every temple fair, there was a large stage outside the temple. Some old village aunts from remote mountainous areas also traveled long distances to accompany them, and those who wanted to sign up for the incense were bustling with one after another.
