Going forward is the duty of monks. The ancients are very particular. As long as they understand this matter, in modern times, they have no idea what it is to become monks. How can they be the ancients? Zhuan Yuheng Chan's man first followed Master Wutai Kongyin and listened to and practiced sutras and treatises. After a long time, he kept his hands shut and just asked for one thought to study his true duties. Wanli Nan asked, passed , Caoxi , and visited the old man for help. The old man said that if you do not let go of your body and mind, you will be able to study the end of the water and the mountains, and you will never fall. Even if you reach the end of the water and the mountains, the ancients called it quiet and stagnant water, and also called it a mysterious cave. If you don’t turn around, you will be like a mountain of silver in front of you. It’s just that when you are effective, it’s not about benefiting.
The ancients put their heart into it, not to die to the end, but to be able to survive in death, and to turn the position on the turn. Therefore, it is said: Although a person sitting at the top of a hundred-foot pole has not yet entered the realm, and the top of a hundred-foot pole is heavy to make progress, the whole world appears. When a scholar comes here, he just turns around and walks the whole way, so that he will not be hindered by him. The Zen man was solemn and separated by rituals, so he killed Zhunanyue. Soon after, the old man also came with a stick, and the Zen person was stumbled by the disease, and he went to medical treatment for the Buddhist scriptures. When the old man heard this, he sighed and said: Zen is a declining person, and it is the most rare scholar who is truly a life and death. Now that this person has such a disease, isn’t the dragon and the sky dislike the method?
The first day of the spring of Bingchen, the wind and rainy night, suddenly the Zen people came to the mud in the rain. When the old man met, he was overjoyed and said, "How can this be a sick man be able to do this?" I feel refreshed when I see his eyebrows, and I know that his illness has been cured by eight or nine times. Because he opened incense and asked for help, the old man showed him special saying: My illness is my great good teacher. Is it true that I know about it in order to help the Tao? Because the disease of sentient beings is caused by self, because they are attached to self, all troubles and diseases arise from them, and if the disease occurs, suffering will follow. Since ancient times and present, no one has not been sick. Only those who know that they are sick will not be sick. Moreover, if the four elements are combined, they will inevitably be dispersed. Even if they are not sick, how can they not be sick? If you are not sick, you will not be sick.
The child knows the disease today, but does not know that there are many disasters, and the disease has been sick to this day. If I cannot get rid of my illness today, I will have gone from now on and I do not know the end of the illness. I know the disease of life and death, but I don’t know that I have to have a disease of life and death. There are major diseases of life and death. Why? The ancients said that practicing Zen cannot leave the yin realm, and fell into the stalemate of knowing emotions. Even if there is a wonderful enlightenment, it will all become my own view. If you hold on to the four elements as me, you can still treat the disease. Now you have to hold on to the four elements as me. If you leave the four elements, you will be the one who has me. This disease will be the most difficult to treat. The Buddhas and ancestors were born in a special way. How much effort did they take to cure this terminal disease? How many people would they be willing to take medicine and get cured? The person with Zen has become sick, so he must not be invaded by Zen diseases. Yunmen says that there are two diseases of the Dharma body. It means that through the Dharma body, if you do not forget the Dharma attachment, your own opinions will still exist, which is also a disease. It is a disease that is extremely verbal.
The Zen people will salivate all the mysterious words and wonderful words contained in the previous ones, as well as meditation and merits, and will only stop the evil habits of being unrestrained, and will definitely not be cultivated by them, which will make the Buddha have no place to stand. Didn’t you see the boy Shancai who asked hundreds of cities in the south, and the fifty-three great teachers, each of whom taught a method. In the end, he only fell into the Dharma Realm and the Void. How could there be any real Dharma link? Also, Vairocana did not see the Dharma body, but the Dharma body was not the body, but the wonderful behavior of Samantabhadra was based on the wonderful behavior of Samantabhadra. Samantabhadra did not act, but only acted according to the behavior of sentient beings. Therefore, it is said that the subject of Bodhi is to suffer sentient beings. If there are no sentient beings, there is no Bodhi. This is the true example of the birth of the Buddha.
The old man said that the four major diseases of Zen people cannot be cured without disease, Zen diseases can be stimulated by the heart, and sentient beings cannot be cured without disease. From today on, if you only place your body like the earth, then the disease will be hidden; if your mind and sentient beings, then your self-view will not stand; if your mind does not stand, then the Zen disease will disappear; if your mind does not stand, then the original will not arise; if you do not arise, then a law will not be established. If one law does not stand, then what law will be hindered from knowledge and view? The ancients said: It is easy to give up emotions, but it is difficult to give up methods. A Zen person sacrificing one's body means giving up emotions, and aside seeing means giving up the law. If you forget both emotions and laws, wouldn't you be a person with great liberation without hindrance? Alas, I am old and feel embarrassed again, so the Zen people encourage him.
