A spell, the house flew all over
"Flying House Travels", in order to fulfill the agreement with his deceased wife, the old man with a strange temper installed countless balloons to travel around the world. In reality, the inspiration for the invention of the aircraft by Clement Ader, the father of France, also came from an balloon . People’s dream of flying is so simple and simple. When realizing fairy tales, they never worry about whether they are logically rigorous, but they care more about whether they are really flying and whether they are as beautiful as they imagined.
French artist Laurent Chéhère was also an advertising man when he was young. Suddenly one day he was tired of working day after day, so he carried his bags and started a trip to the world. During the journey, perhaps due to aesthetic distance or wonderful reverie, he found that the buildings that locals ignored seemed to speak. So he began to try to make "architecture" a narrative means through observation, photography and post-production, and added the surreal action of "flying", so the art project "Flying Houses" (Flying Houses, 2012–) was created.
- Even if they seem real and doubtful, or absurd and funny, what does that matter?

In the early days, he paid attention to the surrounding street scenes, such as French town houses that have been disrepaired for years, cottages like children's paintings, suburban residences waiting to be sold, and cheap hotels with old traces.

The Circus / Le Cirque - 2012
This circus is located on a dusty road in northern France. Laurent Chéhère saw the shadow of Federico Fellini "Continent" (La Strada) , as well as the story of angel falling in love with the flying people in the air. Poetry, darkness, drama, love, all the components of human comedy are there. So in the upper left corner of the picture, he lets a clown-like man pretend to be Napoleon and sit on the roof to smoke to play the sad angel in the movie.

The Great illusion / La Grande illusion - 2012

The name of this work pays tribute to Renoir . From a distance, they were driving a house full of loads, crossing to the sky calmly and peacefully. In fact, they are a group of African immigrants, with hope in their hearts heading towards the future of Paris, but reality is as crowded, unsafe and unhealthy as the roof they are on, and also through this metaphor, they hint at the tragedy that happened to them in the Mediterranean .

The Red Balloon / Le Ballon Rouge - 2012

Inspired by Albert Lamorisse (Albert Lamorisse) 's fantasy short film " Red Balloon ", This seems to be a cheap hotel everywhere, but the words "Long Live the Commune" on the street signs also imply that it already existed as early as 1871 when the bleeding incident in the area occurred. The details on the roof of are graffiti refer to the dictator and symbol of American imperialism in George Orwell's novel "1984", which is full of metaphor.

Notre-Dame - 2019

This is a proposition about disappearance and survival. The central building is the church of St. Paul, built in the 8th century but was regrettably destroyed during the French Revolution. The lower left corner is the streets and squares that have disappeared in the most famous photographer in France, Charles Marville, the photography project "Old Paris" (Paris Street Photography, especially focusing on the old and new streets that will be demolished and built). If you look carefully, you will also find wonderful characters such as Chimera ( Ancient Greek Monster) , ancient stone statues, etc. In addition to paying tribute, the artist also imagines that these architectural relics from the past and the surreal characters can restore the truth about the burning Notre Dame that was . There are many strange houses in the
flying house series. Even if you don’t know its meaning, you will be amazed. When these dust of history, mixed with mysterious exoticism, rushed towards the audience, it immediately brought silent but fascinating stories - and not only did our eyes see them, but also our ears.
