Whether you are traveling abroad or shooting at home, the "city" scene is definitely a good subject. Usually you walk in the center of the city. Not only is the transportation convenient, but you won’t be afraid of getting lost even if you take a late shot. Urban life is rich and there are many different themes. I hope the following are some photography techniques to help you take beautiful photos.
, early
The first thing in the morning is one of the shooting times that everyone likes very much in the morning. There are many reasons, including light scattering and "the sky is like a huge filter". I have also done some urban photography and found that the early morning photos are also great, for two reasons:
(1) Clean streets, most street cleaning work is done at night, and you will usually find urban scenes with less garbage in the early morning, which will not affect your shooting.
(2) Photos taken at dawn are unlikely to be messed up. It's amazing how lonely the city looks if you can take pictures of a person for free. Of course, you may want to see characters in some photos, and surprisingly, urban areas can change according to the people around you.
2. Forward-looking perspective
suggest that the shape of the building you photograph should change the way you compose it. Buildings with domes should include backgrounds to help viewers appreciate it, while square buildings look best when shot at 45-60 angles. Don’t just shoot the finished building, but also focus on the building area and the buildings being built or renovated.
3, add pedestrians to photos
In a busy city, it is difficult to take empty streets (one way is to use powerful ND filters), but you can use low-speed shutters to make streaming become part of the composition prospect! This can also highlight the lively atmosphere and feeling of the city.
4. Find new angles
Find new angles to photograph famous buildings. Find areas that the average photographer cannot see, and look for interesting patterns, shapes, textures, reflections and angles to highlight architectural details that might have been overlooked by others before. If you shoot at night, you also need an tripod to help with the shooting. It is best to have a wired shutter, which can reduce the vibration when pressing the shutter.
Urban scenery is a very convenient place full of photography opportunities. When students don’t know what to shoot, try to set a theme for themselves to shoot with the city scenery! I hope some photography techniques introduced above can be helpful to you
