Nanzhai ancient village is located in Luodian Village, Fudian Town, Huangchuan County, about 18 kilometers away from the county seat. Nanzhai was formerly called Zhangzhai and has a history of nearly 200 years.

The village faces south and covers an area of ​​about 20 acres. There is an outer trench dug on the outermost layer, about 6-8 meters wide. There is an ancient village wall built close to the outer trench, both of which are basically well preserved.

The ancient village wall was made of rammed earth. With the erosion of the years, it is now about 2 meters high. There are many maple trees growing on it. The remains of the ancient fort are left in the southeast and northwest directions. There is a newly renovated village gate in the southeast of the ancient village. An ancient stone plaque is inlaid above the door, with the word "affair" written on it.

Entering the village gate, there is an inner trench dug and well preserved. The "Zhang Family's Old House" in the inner trench still maintains the appearance of the Qing Dynasty , with three upper parts and three lower parts, green bricks and gray tiles, and auspicious tile carvings, which embodies the characteristics of traditional residential buildings in the southern Henan region and has been favored by the people of Xinyang City. The government announced it as a municipal cultural relic protection unit, and was selected into the Henan Province Ancient Village Protection List in 2018.
