Summer is here, and clouds are becoming more and more beautiful. Today we will talk about how to take pictures of clouds. I will give you three simple methods.

First, if you see very thick clouds, the kind of clouds that are about to rain heavily, don’t forget to photograph them thicker. What does that mean? Please pay attention to two details: First, the area occupied by clouds in the picture is much larger than the area of things on the ground. That is to say, 2/3 or 3/4 of the area should be given to clouds, and then the ground should be left alone. Ding Dian, comparing the size in this way, the cloud is thick and the ground is small.

The second small detail is the composition of your picture. The upper boundary cannot show the boundary of the clouds. Even though this cloud may be very thick, it has a boundary after all. It has a certain thickness. If you want to shoot upward, the blue sky will be exposed. If that doesn't work, you have to capture it on the body of the cloud. This cannot allow its outline to be expressed. There is only one bottom edge and no edges on the left and right sides. This is called a big thick cloud without boundaries. It is very, very big. Its size and thickness are exaggerated.

If what we see is not the kind of cloud that is about to rain, but the kind that has finished the rainstorm, the sun has come out, and there is already sunshine in the sky, how can we take pictures of the clouds? Pay special attention to clouds that are blocking the sun. We usually write about this kind of cloud in our compositions. We call it the golden edge of dark clouds. Although I think it looks good in my heart, in fact, few people pay attention to them in real life. You will know next time. You must pay attention to who is blocking the sun and take a close-up shot of it to make the Phnom Penh Reflected incisively and vividly.
At this time, you can pay attention to your white balance . What kind of white balance is better? That is, it can not only capture the golden color of the golden edge of clouds, which is warmer, but it can also well express the coldness of the shadows of clouds that are not hit by the sun. The blue color of the sky is cold and warm. Appearing on the clouds at the same time, Phnom Penh becomes even more precious.

But I want to remind you that the most taboo thing about taking pictures of clouds in the sky is just clouds. Because only the cloud is just a background, there is nothing real to see, and there is no visual foothold. Therefore, when we look up to take pictures of zenith clouds, or when we take pictures of very high clouds, we must be careful to try to put on some objects that can make people's eyes stop. For example, I have a picture with a Ferris wheel at the bottom, and another picture that seems to have nothing, but in fact there is a bird in the upper left corner in the direction the sun is pointing, right? It is also a thing.

Then the third type of cloud is the kind that looks very light, does not feel so thick, does not feel so oppressive, and is white and clean. So what can we pay attention to when taking pictures of this kind of cloud? Pay attention to the shape of the scenery on the ground. Look at this photo. The mountain on the left rises. Does it look like a wave? The hilltop on the right rises higher, looks like a big wave, right? Raise left and right. That cloud is also like this. Its shape is like a wave, which is completely consistent with the shape of the mountain. Isn't it just that one is facing left and the other is facing right. So, this is the shape of the clouds echoing the shape of the ground.
