#Exposure compensation
When shooting objects with a SLR, we can see the objects and the camera can photograph the objects because the objects can reflect light. The metering system of an SLR camera collects the light reflected by objects to calculate the exposure.
In photography, we expose according to the existing light source. If the ambient light source is dark, we can increase the exposure value, and the exposure value is +1EV or +2EV to highlight the clarity of the picture.
Exposure compensation is a shooting technique that consciously changes the appropriate exposure parameters automatically calculated by the camera to make the photo brighter or darker.
In all P, Av, and Tv shooting modes of SLR camera exposure modes, automatic exposure technology is used to determine aperture and shutter speed, so that photos can get the correct exposure. But if our photography creation only stops at automatic exposure, it will only be a preliminary level of creation.
When we take pictures of white environments such as snow scenes, we find that the snow we take is gray. This is because the camera thinks that this white color is overexposed, and will automatically control the parameters through an algorithm to reduce the exposure value. The camera thinks that this exposure is correct. It's normal, but with the naked eye we will find that the exposure under this condition is insufficient, because the color of the snow should be white. At this time we can solve this problem by increasing exposure compensation.
In photography, white plus black minus means to increase the exposure when shooting a scene that is overall bright or white, and to decrease the exposure when shooting a scene that is overall dark or black.
Because the camera will shoot everything gray, so if you shoot white snow, the result of automatic exposure must be gray snow, so you need to increase the exposure. If you shoot a blackboard, the result must be a gray board, so you need to decrease the exposure.
