一场狗狗秀马上就要开始了，谁获奖了呢？是Floppy吗？我们来看看吧！

Today let’s read Top Dog.

今天我们来读《狗狗冠军》。
We can see many dogs on the cover.

我们可以看到封面上有很多小狗狗。

What are they doing here?

他们在这里做什么呢？

They are all here for the dog show.

他们在参加狗狗秀。

The judges will choose the top 3 most beautiful dog breeds.

评委会选出最好看的狗狗。

I see a judge holding a cup which says ‘TOP DOG’.

我看到一个评委拿着一个写着“狗狗冠军”的奖杯。

What do you think ‘Top Dog’ means?

你觉得Top Dog是什么意思呢？

Who do you think will be chosen as the top dog?Let’s find out.

你觉得谁会是冠军呢？我们去看看吧。

Look at those dogs!

看看这些狗狗！

They are all sitting on the platform.

他们都坐在台子上。

This one is Floppy.

这个是Floppy。

This one is a white dog with brown spots.

这是一只身上有棕色斑点的白狗狗。

This one is a small, white dog with curly hair.

这是一只小小的白色卷毛狗。

This one is a yellow dog.

这是一只黄色的小狗。

This one is black.

这只狗是黑色的。

Wow! Look at this dog. It is very big.

哇，看看这只大狗！

There are a lot of people at the dog show.

有很多人来参加狗狗秀。

They have all come to see the beautiful dogs, and eager to find out which one will be the top dog.

大家都喜欢看这些漂亮的狗狗，想要看看谁会是狗狗冠军。

“We like this dog. This is a little dog.” said the judge.

我们喜欢这只狗，这是一只小狗狗，评委说。

The judge gives a medal to the small, white dog.

评委正在把一块奖牌给这只白色的小狗。

He won the 3rd prize.

它得了三等奖。

The dog owner is very happy.

这只狗的主人看起来非常开心。

Oh no. I think the other dogs look quite disappointed.

但是，其他的狗狗看起来却很失望。

“We like this dog. This is a big dog.” said the judge.

我们喜欢这只狗，这是一只很大的狗，评委说。

This big, brown dog won the second-prize.

这只棕色的大狗得了二等奖。

What are the other dogs doing?

其他的狗狗在做什么呢？

Well, the black dog is looking at the big, brown dog.

看看这只黑色的狗狗，他正在看着这只棕色的大狗。

This poor yellow dog looks very upset.

这只黄色的狗狗看起来很焦虑。

What about Floppy？

Floppy呢？

Floppy is just staring at the big dog.

Floppy正瞪大眼睛盯着这只大狗。

“We all like this dog. This is the top dog.” said the judge.

我们都很喜欢这只狗，这只是狗狗冠军。

The judge gives the first prize to a beautiful, white dog.

评委正把一等奖发给这只白色的漂亮狗狗。

Both the owners and the dog are very happy.

狗狗和主人都很开心。

Wait! Did Floppy get an award?

等等！Floppy获奖了吗？

No. Oh, poor Floppy!

没有。哎，可怜的Floppy！

He must be very sad.

他一定很伤心。

So are the children.

小朋友们同样也不开心。

Where are they now?

他们现在在哪里？

They are back at home.

他们回家了。

“We like Floppy best of all.” said the children.

我们最喜欢Floppy了，小朋友们说。

They gave Floppy a special medal which says ‘Best of All’.

他们给Floppy了一块特殊的奖牌，写了“最棒的狗狗”。

Look at Biff! She is giving Floppy a special cup -- a goblet.

看Biff！她正给Floppy一个特殊的奖杯：一只高脚杯。

Is Floppy happy now?

Floppy现在开心了吗？

Yes! Definitely!

是的，很开心！

That’s because every child in the family loves Floppy.

因为家里的每个孩子都很爱Floppy。

拓展问题

1.How did Floppy feel when he saw other dogs getting medals?

Floppy看到其他狗狗得奖的时候，他有什么感受呢？

2.How did he feel at the end of the story?

在故事的最后，他有什么感受呢？

3.Which dog do you think is the top dog?

你觉得哪一个狗狗应该得冠军呢？

这真的是一个非常温馨的小故事呢，虽然Floppy没有得到奖牌，但是小朋友们自己给Floppy颁发了一个独一无二的奖。

秃头叔叔带着他家的小狗也来偷偷看这场狗狗秀啦，你找到他在哪里了吗？为什么他的小狗没有参加狗狗秀呢？

特别提醒

1. 每个宝宝的年龄不一样，基础不一样，不需要完全按照以上文本来讲。如果孩子感兴趣，就多说一点，不感兴趣就少说一点，都没问题。

2. 只要孩子理解，或看图能明白，或家长可以用肢体语言或者指物的方式让孩子明白，就不要翻译。

3. 如果实在不能理解，可以适当解释，但不需要字对字翻译。
