land transfer, barn demolition, farmland protection... a story about rural revitalization has been brought to the cantonese opera stage. on july 1st and 2nd, the modern cantonese opera "spring on daji island" was performed at the guangzhou jiangnan grand theatre. dajisha island is a river island located in the waters of huangpu district, guangzhou, and is home to the "longping international modern agricultural park." the opera draws inspiration from the rural revitalization efforts of dajisha island and tells the story of contemporary rural builders advancing the "international modern agricultural rice park" project.
in recent years, guangzhou cantonese opera theatre has created several modern operas based on contemporary themes, such as "by the qingshui river", which focuses on the construction of beautiful villages, and "longping fragrant rice garden", which portrays yuan longping's dream of enjoying the cool below a standing grain. "spring on daji island" presents its story in a youthful, lighthearted comedic style. starring great actors chen junmin and chen yunling, it shapes characters including a project manager who transitioned from an urban white-collar worker and a young village party secretary finding his footing, reflecting changes in social relationships and values during the process of rural revitalization.
the opera features a bright and fresh stage, using minimalist stage design to abstractly depict imagery such as the pearl river and rice fields. director zeng qiuling emphasizes a sense of fashion and musical theatre style. scenes like the "stool dance," "straw hat dance," and "dismantling the granary" transform dramatic conflicts into dynamic and expressive stage pictures, which not only retain the lyrical essence of opera, but also embrace the modern aesthetic, creating a new rural artistic image that blends tradition with modernity.
現代粵劇《大吉島的春天》公演，講述鄉村振興的故事
土地流轉、拆舊穀倉、保護耕地……一個講述鄉村振興的故事被搬上粵劇舞台。7月1日、2日，現代粵劇《大吉島的春天》在廣州的江南大戲院公演。劇中的“大吉島”原型是廣州市黃埔水域的一座江心島大吉沙島，也是“隆平國際現代農業公園”的所在地。《大吉島的春天》以大吉沙島村的鄉村振興實踐為藍本，講述了新時代鄉村建設者在推動“國際現代農業水稻公園”項目過程中的故事。
近年來，廣州粵劇院圍繞現實題材創排多部現代粵劇，如聚焦“美麗鄉村”建設的《清水河畔》、展現袁隆平“禾下夢”的《隆平稻香園》。《大吉島的春天》以青春輕喜劇風格呈現，由陳駿旻、陳韻玲等優秀演員主演，塑造了從都市白領轉型的項目經理、成長中的年輕村支書等青年形象，展現鄉村振興中社會關係與價值觀念的變遷。
《大吉島的春天》舞颱風格清新明快，採用極簡舞美設計，抽象呈現珠江、稻田等意象。導演曾秋玲緊扣“時尚感”和“歌舞化”，“凳子舞”“草帽舞”“拆穀倉”等場景將戲劇衝突轉化為富有張力的舞台畫面，既保留戲曲寫意特質，又賦予現代審美品格，塑造出傳統與現代交融的新時代鄉村藝術形象。
